Please Pray For Me & My Little Friend

Recommended Posts

Hello -

Right now the Lord has taken me on an intense 'digging in' journey; from just emerging from a long trial period, I guess I was expecting that the tough stuff was over for a while.

But the Lord had other plans!! Instead, He's brought me right into an intense work rooting out core issues from my past that got me into the trial period to begin with! And in doing this, handing me challenge after challenge to try to handle in His Will - understanding these are gifts of opportunity from the Lord to grow in Him for His work, (though some days I think I'd really just prefer a no-gift exchange...).

And - that's okay with me, but one of the on-going challenges has been... silly as it may sound, I really would like any prayers for my little buddy, my boy cat - The Professor.

My sister's dog came into my house and attacked him, seriously hurting his arm. He had a rod & pins put in & then re-injured it again - he broke another bone in the same area & loosened a couple pins in his rod. I could only afford to set it in a pseudo-cast again & pray it heals and he doesn't lose his arm, (leg), but the surgeon said he has only a 20% chance of success for that.

So while he heals in the next couple weeks we will find out. He'll be fine if he has to get along on 3 legs - but he's been through so much & we would really be blessed if the Lord would spare him that mercy.

I know in the grand scheme of things and needs; unemployment, no money, people-health and well-being - and I am in need in all those areas myself - my cat may seem trivial, but if you are so inclined, we would appreciate any prayers in his direction. Going through my divorce or anytime I ever sob or cry out he is always right there, curling up and being such comfort. Asking for prayer is the least I could do him.

Any prayers for finances and my new business to continue moving forward would also be greatly appreciated!

Thank you & God Bless -

Praying for your animal is NOT trivial. As a matter of fact there is a scripture for this:

"A righteous man regards the life of his animal..." (Proverbs 12:10)

God cares for EVERYTHING that we care about. I will pray for "the professor" that God would supernaturally heal his leg. And for you, I am in agreement with these temporal things to change. God is doing some things for his people in this hour. We need to rise up and declare what the WORD says about our situation. Doing this keeps our eyes off of what we see. It's amazing how much better we feel about everything, when we speak what God says about it. We have the creative power of God inside of us. So rise up my sister and speak and give birth to those things that are inside of you. God is faithful...it's not by might, nor by power, but by HIS SPIRIT!!!

Thank you both for the encouragement & also the scripture!

I'm thrilled you knew that, Cholette - now I have something biblical to at least refer to when people say, 'You're spending how much on your cat?'

The Professor, (aka Buddy), is 11, weighs 15 1/2 lbs and he's pretty solid in muscle and overall healthy! So I'm hopeful he could make it through this with all four claws intact. But, poor guy - I'm trying to keep him pretty doped up and sleepy this time so he doesn't harm himself again when I'm out.

I guess the Lord is working in His people these days! Just catching up on forum reading - especially prayers, there are a lot of us digging in and cleaning out the painful old stuff, so we can be more effective for the Lord. Amen - Pain and all!

Normally I'm not a self-help-book person, Christian-based or not, but I've come across an outstanding tool for people who have past issues that are interfering in your life and God's Work. It's a book called 'How To Handle Your Emotions' by June Hunt, but don't let the title scare you.

It's simple to read, direct and not touchy-feely and covers all the areas that can become broken inside people, or helps fill in blanks for those of us who have somehow missed Godly-life instruction on: Anger, Depression, Fear, Grief, Rejection, Self Worth. Many issues intermingle to some degree, so I'm finding so far it's worthwhile to read each topic.

I like it because it contains no psycho-babble and clearly, briefly and to the point explains and gives perspective to the crazy and ungodly ways we interpret, process, and/or behave. And then gives clear, brief, Godly, step-by-step instructions how to, or not to, think, interpret, process, behave and/or change.

It's a simple book, but powerful and speaks loudly with the voice of God and tons of scripture to back it up. I'm finding some days my study consists of only half a page, or a few sections, so I can absorb it, pray about it, meditate, etc.

I mention it here because maybe it could be helpful to someone else who is struggling and seeking some good, basic and Godly perspective and instruction.

Thanks again for the encouragement and the prayers!

I'll keep you posted on The Professor's progress

Christina,
I'm convinced satan will try to harm our animals if he can't get to us! I have two cats, Sam and Hannah, and I love them dearly. I've started to plead the blood of Jesus over them every day because Sam has been attacked in an area of his body where I was attacked for 20 years before I finally got victory.
I pray for The Professor and ask the Lord Jesus to bring healing to his body. I pray for protection from further attacks both to Christina and this beautiful cat. I thank Jesus for making The Professor and for all the comfort he's brought my sister. I thank Jesus in advance for healing--healing for the leg, healing for finances and freedom from fear!

The Professor had his vet appt today - if he doesn't have another re-break he should be able to keep his leg! Will know more next appt - in one month, and if all looks good he will have cast off after another month. His leg will be a little bent, but Doc said he should be able to get around on it fine!

Thank you for all your prayers - he is a very special little cat!

God Bless -
