Praise GOD! Believe it and count on it. The financial is one tsunami, the marital is the second and whatever the third is rest COMFORTABLY and KNOW that God has already spoken to you your outcome. He will direct you and it will be good!

Post by Desiree (Starpop) on Sun Oct 19, 2008 4:31 pm

I think I may have a revelation on the last dream with the older couple MIA!

Last night my parents (who are middle aged) had a HUGE disagreement (not uncommon since they've been together for MANY YEARS!!) Anyway, this morning they were acting like "love birds" and like nothing happened! My mom says, "We do that". The funny thing is, I do think the older couple represented them (they're birth years and birthdays are close together-but not in same month) and they always "act as though they don't care about eachother (arch enemies)" when they REALLY DO!! (ie: remember in the dream, the couple was pretending to not know what marriage was?) I believe the sunglasses represented that my parents are "blinded by love" (that's why they've been together all these year!lol) and they don't see eye to eye on things (not clearly) but they still are VERY much in love (as represented by the kiss)! Also today (10/19/08) they were dressed up as they went out to spend the morning together. i also happened to be talking about a job too. So Mia, you were right about the dream having to do with my mom!

Thanks again!

Mia,

I just opened my Bible to have some study time and happened to open directly to Prov. 24:16. The beginning states "a just man falls seven times...". I immediately remembered a teaching regarding the number seven in the Bible as being comparable to our using the number ten as a way to express any number of times.

I then went to the Strong's Concordance and found what I thought was interesting. "Seven" in this scripture is #7651 in the Hebrew, and while it can mean one week, it also means an indefinite number. It comes from the root of #7650 which actually means "to the full" or "to be complete." This certainly strengthens the notion that seven is the number of completion.

I also cross-referenced it in Zondervan's Study Bible and it defines it as "many times."

I'm not sure how you will interpret this, but I thought it was interesting!

Then, that might not be symbolic but a definition instead?

Let's try another word.

Hm.

Seven defined:

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H7651&t=KJV

Root word of Seven:

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H7650&t=KJV

For seven, my root word says this:

1) to swear, adjure

a) (Qal) sworn (participle)

b) (Niphal)

1) to swear, take an oath

2) to swear (of Jehovah by Himself)

3) to curse

c) (Hiphil)

1) to cause to take an oath

2) to adjure

Well, the root word of eight means:

1) fat, rich, robust

a) fat, rich (of food)

b) stout, robust (of men)

Okay, now it's beginning to be too confusing for me! We both obviously have different reference material. Some of the items you mention are also in my Strong's.

I'm going to stop right here, because I don't want to get lost in the details. Thank you for your input!

No, it is actually a huge book. It is called "The New Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible." The copyright date is 1990. The Bible I referenced is The New American Standard Bible by Zondervan (a study Bible).

As a point to ponder though, do you think that if a just man falls more than seven times that he won't get back up? lol!

I think that the number seven thing may be rooted in that very thing. Does that give us solid ground to stand on that numbers are a way that God speaks to us? And is there ANY biblical evidence of numbers used sybolically in dreams?

Mia,

I'm going to stay on firm ground and say that no, I have not come across Biblical evidence that numbers are used symbolically in dreams.

:) You know, Delaine, aside from the very important aspect that there is no evidence for it in the bible (which causes me great concern in interpretations and is a red light for me, right there), almost all of my dreams turn into my waking reality. I've recorded and witnessed hundreds of dream manifest into a waking experience and I can't remember any messages given to me through symbolic use of numbers.

I guess the only thing that I can teach is what I know to be biblically true and what I know. And I don't know or have any experience with symbolic use of numbers in dreams. It seems everything else under the sun can be symbolic but numbers seem to ALWAYS be what they are. Which is why I am so cautious with the entire topic and why I want to share it with you all.

Honestly, my mind isn't closed against numbers having some meaning but can a number have a meaning without it being symbolic?

I think sometimes. For example, there are times that the Lord has given me scripture verses. Now that doesn't mean that everytime I see numbers in my dream they represent scripture, but I have found that when there has been an odd emphasis on a number that makes it stand out in a dream, it often has been a scripture chapter:verse combination....

Blessings,

Lurdys

The Lord has given me books and chapters but not chapters and verse but that would be a literal definition and not a symbol.

Yes, I agree - I thought that's what you meant...having a meaning without it being symbolic? The scripture verse is still literal but has some meaning...or like Desiree's dream where the birthdate was literal but had some meaning in that it was a clue that the woman symbolized her mother...

Right it was a literal date and the chapter and verse are literal. Numbers are more clues than symbols. A clue is different than a symbol because a symbol leaves you mystified sometimes, whereas a clue points you in the right direction because it is literal.

Mia,

I honestly understand your cautiousness regarding anything unbiblical. That's exactly why I'm on this site. I felt the green light to become a part of this group because I am seeking the truth of God's Word regarding dreams. Please feel free to steer me in the right direction anytime I get off track. Sometimes I may express an alternative way of thinking, but it will be only for discussion. Often discussions open other avenues of thought, and we may learn something in the process.

Please know that I am here to learn. I've been in the church all my life (almost 50 years), but that means absolutely nothing. I have only begun to grow the last 13 years. As I began to seek God, he allowed trouble in order to work on my character. Trouble has a way of growing you up fast!!!! In the process, my dreams began to take on more importance, and I decided that I was going to pursue God's wisdom to understand dreams. You and others on this site are definitely a part of the wisdom and knowledge that God is allowing me to receive.

God bless! huggins

I was just thinking about that today. It is virtually impossible for me to shut up when the Holy Spirit is moving. I think that is why the NT talks about prophets having self control.
