Owning/Living on an Island

A close friend of mine had a dream that she owned two islands. She lived on the smaller one and the larger was for tourism/business, in which she was in charge. What do islands represent?

To me islands can represent separateness as well. Based on what you've described she may simply be keeping just her personal and business lives separate or it could be broader, she could be a 'compartmentalizer' which is one who keeps the different parts of their life separate and there's no connection between the different parts. I know someone who lives their life this way and it's 'interesting'...he sees the different parts of his life as serving different purposes so he handles them differently...it works for him but it took several years for his wife to understand this as even she wasn't allowed into some areas of his life.... ...things have gotten much better between them but it's different...
