my son's dream: People ate my food

Post by hind'sfeet on Wed Mar 10, 2010 12:51 am

My son had this dream:

I was at an all you can eat buffet. I was getting some some corn dogs, pizza, and biscuits that I filled with honey. Then I left the food at the buffet where I got the food. I had gone to get a drink from the drink fountain and I go back to get my food and my plate was empty. People had taken my food thinking that the items were part of the buffet. Once that happened the lunch break ended and I didn't even get a bite.

Hi HF. I've had similar dreams and they did mean someone was taking advantage of me, either stealing my ideas or taking credit for my work. I've told myself it doesn't matter as long as things get done, but that isn't true. If someone steals an idea or vision, they introduce an element of uncleaness to something holy. And if nothing else, it hurts.

Just my thoughts too, but Daphanie has a point.

I believe you both are right. My son is always having ideas for inventions, though totally unrealistic, I'm sure it will one day click and he will have brilliant workable ideas. I'll pray that no one takes advantage of him in any form.

Thanks guys!!

Hi again HF. I can relate. My son is super bright and always has something new on his mind. But what I shared was just an example, kids can feel left out or passed over for a million different reasons. Maybe eveen home schooling in a way. (my kids have felt that way when we were home schooling and they didn't get to see their friends.) Is there any thing in his life that makes him feel "ripped off"?

He says he did have friends in school. The thing is that I have to drill him to get any feelings about missing people out of him. Sometimes I think he doesn't care one way or another about people.
He says he does feel a little jipped about his dad being gone but I had to drill him and he also says that he misses his friends a little and had to drill him about that too.
We are a military family, so his dad is deployed and he doesn't see his friends because we pcsed (a military move).

Hi sis. I'll put him on my prayer list. It's got to be hard missing his dad. And maybe that's it, he feels like strength and sustenance have been taken away from him, but not by anyone in particular, just the anonymous "them". That's harder than having a face to be angry with. maybe understanding that will help him see his own sacrifice in a better light.

I just asked him about what you said and he said yes. I think God gave him the dreams because he doesn't tell me what he feels unless he is really angry. I've never seen him emote sadness or mild anger except when he was a toddler.
I worry about it quite a bit. That's why I think God gave it to him cause I ask my son his dreams a lot.

Praise God for the opening. Sons need their dads for sure, but God is the perfect Father and He has a special love for the fatherless, and I believe that includes boys like yours who have to be away from their dad's for a long time. Please remind him that the Lord knows the sacrifice he's making and understands.
