Strange Dream

Post by Mariakitty on Sat Feb 27, 2010 5:50 pm

I was in a coffee shop, something like a Dunkin Donuts, (if
you’ve ever been to USA
east coast, you’re familiar, if not, it’s like a low-end Starbucks). There was
a fairly big seating area, almost like a cafeteria. The place was full of
people.

A big group of white people were there and being served one
at a time. Then this large busload of black people were coming in, and it was
known that they had a reservation, like it was known ahead of time that they
were coming in. It seemed like the group of black people were having to wait a
long time because the other group had come in before them, even though it was
known ahead of time that they were coming.

I didn’t work there, but I was somehow highly aware of what
was happening, and felt a sense of wanting to help organize the situation to
expedite things and get the people served quickly. I was trying to do "damage control" by talking to the black lady who was leading this group because I didn't want them to be offended because they had to wait. I told her that I'd go in and speak to the counter help, so I went in and I suggested to the coffee girl
to start filling the “Box O Joe” cartons and I would bring them to the tables
along with cups of milk and sugar.

The girl behind the counter only had these huge UPS type shipping
boxes, not any of the “Box O Joe” containers. Initially I was thinking we could
improvise and line the shipping boxes with trash bags, but then I realized that
wasn’t appropriate/not going to work. I was beginning to feel frustrated and
couldn’t understand why this coffee shop didn’t have the right boxes/containers
for serving large quantities of coffee; after all, they knew about this large
group ahead of time.

Also, it suddenly became clear that even if they did have
the right boxes, they didn’t have enough coffee brewed, and those people were
going to have to wait anyway. I felt embarrassed and somehow responsible, even
though it had nothing to do with me at all.

Does your church have a conference or another event they are hosting coming up soon?

Hi Mia!

No. I'm actually in transition and not currently part of any one church.

Not right now, as I am in transition, getting ready to move.

There's one other detail...I don't normally think of people in terms of "black people/white people" so that was strange to me, but was very distinct. Also, many of the black people were elderly and I had the sense that they had been made to wait their entire lives, be second in line always and I think that's why I wanted to intervene...

Hello,
First of all, I would like to say I have not taken the accuracy test. I would like to respond to your dream and therefore the following represents what I see when I see your dream. Hopefully you can take somethng from it in order to better understand your dream, if not, I hope I do not add to any confusion of it being interpreted.

I heard someone make this statement or read this statement, not sure which one: "There are only 2 races in the world: the lost and the saved."
I believe the 2 groups in this dream represent just that: the saved (the white group, white meaning they have received the righteousness of Christ) and the lost (the black group, black representing sin where righteousness [salvation] has not yet been received).
With that said, I believe this dream shows the righteous (the church) not putting the lost first on their agenda. They (the church) have put their agenda first. Not only have they not put the lost first, they are in unpreparedness for the reaching of the lost (the lack of the correct boxes to put the coffee in). In other words, the church is improvising (to perform with little or no preparation) when it comes to reaching the lost. Sadly, the dream shows the church really doesn't seem to be all that concerned with the reaching of the lost. I believe the coffee here symbolizes the planting of seeds into a person's life: some plant seeds, some water the seed, and some harvest the seed. Coffee is made from a seed.
"...........after all, they knew about this large group ahead of time." The church is aware "a head of time" about the lost but they have not and are not preparing for them properly.
A reservation is that which is held over for a later time, such as an appointment. They (the lost) have a reservation for a divine appointment with one who belongs to God who will plant that seed inside of them. The dream shows the church is unprepared for these divine appointments (reservations).
Again, this is just my perspective on your dream.

Hi One Door (cool name!!)

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts and I think that is very good insight! I felt such an intense sense of wanting to help but the coffee shop didn't have what was needed; I was willing to serve but couldn't because they weren't even prepared!

The other element was how I felt about these elderly people were always made to wait, always came second and the time was short (I think is what was meant by them being elderly)...

Thanks for taking the time to respond! God Bless you!
