Tsunami Dream and Manifestation

Post by Mia Sherwood on Sat Feb 27, 2010 10:30 am

Link to a dream I posted in world prophecies two days before this tsunami... http://miasherwood.forumotion.net/national-world-prophecies-f20/crater-tsunami-t7448.htm

I had a dream about the tsunami a couple of days ago and then this morning I dreamed about the earthquake that happened this morning. I was thinking I wish I had said something about my dream earthquake dream before I went to the computer but I thought about it and then decided against it so I never did get to post the earthquake dream nor did I have time to pray about it before it happened.

Does that ever happen to you? You have a prophetic dream and don't tell anyone or it happens so quickly you don't have time to pray?

lol I probably will. The same exact thing happened in the last earthquake.. I was thinking, 'I will never hesitate to say something about an earthquake first thing in the morning because I know now that I find out about them while I'm sleeping!

I'm usually pretty good about posting. When I had the tsunami dream I posted it right away... but this morning.. when I dreamed about the earthquake just a couple of days after the tsunami dream I was thinking...

'Earthquake??.... people taking refuge in high rises because of an earthquake??? How can that happen in an earthquake...

Obviously, the smarter part of my brain wasn't functioning yet because that's exactly what is in the newspaper this morning. By the time I would have posted it it was already in the news but I was thinking of telling my family at home about it before we saw the news, as soon as we awoke.

Hi Mia, this is impressive as one day I had in my thought the "earthquake" several times and I thought I made up myself and it's from enemy. After several hours when my family was watching TV, an earthquake happened. It was quite powerful, like a small exlosion but Praise God nothing serious. I even noticed that I can feel earthquake nearby as I start having terrible headaches (I usually feel the weather change beforehand) and in hours or a day later I read or hear in the news about an earthquake.

After reading your post this dream about a plane crash came to my mind. Here is the link http://miasherwood.forumotion.net/dreams-and-visions-to-be-interpreted-f1/crashed-palne-and-rain-t5788.htm. After a day or two days, I heard in the news about a Russian military plane crash something Tupolev but another type, nine people died. I never took it as a literal dream, I even shared with my mom but she remained silent, so I really don't know whether my dream and the plane crash have sth in common.

I can relate to the telling your mom thing. I was going to tell my mom about a dream once and the Holy Spirit stopped me by telling me not to cast my pearls before swine.

When mine come true I KNOW it was the manifestation.

Agreed. It's also not easy to speak out the interpretation either. However, God has given me some awful visions to intercede for and we've seen Him do tremendous miracles which makes it worthwhile.

Ya know that is so interesting to me. Year before last I had a dream about a tornado and I thought it was about someone else. I went into my prayer closet and prayed for that person and then about a week later we had a tornado in our area and our apartment got hit. Our apartment was just fine but the building was not and we had to move in 24 hours. I was very upset as you can imagine and the Lord came to me in a dream personally and help my face and told me it would all work out fine. He is so good to us. But I really was amazed that it was not for the person I thought. It was for me the whole time. Still learning.

Love in Jesus,

When I told Eric about the Tsunami he said, "Is it a symbolic tsunami or a literal tsunami?"

I said, "Literal. It's a real tsunami."

But I went on to explain to him that when I have dreams come to pass very quickly after the dream some of the symbols in the dream ca seem off... but the dream happens so timely that it's obvious it's about THIS tsunami. On the other hand, I told him, if a dream takes longer to come to pass it will be more detailed and the details will be spot on.

The awesome part of your dream is that you had time to pray and your apartment was fine!

I have had that happen many times; dreaming something and not saying anything about it to anyone or not even having had the time or unction to pray about it or journal it and then BAM! it comes to pass.

I think the Lord has shown me a few things about this at various times:

1) Sometimes, He just wanted to build my faith about the gift, that YES, I am hearing from Him.

2) Sometimes, I had to check my own motives for wishing I had said something; did it matter too much to me that others were aware that "I knew", like is my identity all wrapped up in my gift?

3) Sometimes I needed to be reminded that my first response should be to get into immediate prayer...BUT>>>beware of condemnation because that's not from the Lord AND because (see # 4)

4) There are times that He's just putting out a warning of what's to come and we're only being told and it's not at that changeable by prayer stage...

I think when something comes to pass with that kind of immediacy, like there wasn't even time to pray, that it was for the purpose of warning, or helping us to know that He's in control, etc...

Yep to all of the above and for an in depth discussion of number 2............

I do have issues in this area.

Proving the validity of prophetic dreams is a huge part of who I am because there is so much skepticism and doubt. Sometimes I think people doubt the validity of prophetic dreams just so they don't HAVE to believe it.

Gosh, I hear you Mia!

For me, ever since I was a child and had prophetic dreams, it has not always been well received, and at times, I have been accused of being insane/imagining things when they were spot on, (The Holy Spirit doesn't lie!!).
I have wrestled with the need to have to "prove" that no, I am not crazy, and this almost creates an environment that is contrary to the humility we must walk in with gifts that the Lord has seen fit to give us.
I try to resist having to "prove myself" or "prove my gift", but rather to be diligent and faithful to the best of my ability.

Prov 22:29 Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.

There's another verse as well that I was trying to find that basically says that 'our gifts open doors and we will stand before kings'...something like that.

For me, I feel the weight and seriousness of not putting myself out there to prove myself, but to walk in obedience as the Lord releases me to share things. I think if there wasn't enough time to share something or intercede, then that wasn't to be released publicly that "I knew it", but rather for me to take to heart, prayer, etc...ask Him why the timing was such, what is His purpose, etc...

What an adventure!

I love that!

For me proving the validity of prophetic dreams is a little different, because part of my ministry is diligently documenting the truth about dreams and visions - and showing the unbelieving world that God is still speaking through prophetic dreams by diligently documenting, in advance, the dreams that I have which are on a world widescale - as a part of evangelizing this part of life in the spirit that people are missing.

I believe God does things as a sign and wonder and I feel that He has entrusted this to me to be diligent about showing that He is STILL speaking prophetically into this world.

As a result, when I don't do that to 100% of my ability I kick myself.

I found the other verse I was looking for (slightly senile at 46...)

Proverbs 18:16 A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.
