Goldeneagle -

big hug 2

It's hard when you commit to taking care of a loved one and that person makes their transition then you realize how much time has passed. Your friends/peers are in different phases of their lives but your own life has moved in a different direction as a result of your commitment. While it is comforting and satisfying to know that you've fulfilled one of the Ten Commandments by honoring your parent and you know the Lord is pleased with you as a result, there's still part of us that yearns to get our own needs met. Fortunately, we serve an awesome and faithful God who knows our needs even before we make them known to Him.

Those lonely feelings may be a flag to lean into the Lord more through prayer and reading of the Word. He understands your pain as He has experienced similar things - For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15)

The reassuring thing here is that the Lord is with you, He hasn't forsaken you. He tells us that throughtout the Old and New Testament. Check out the following scriptures and meditate over them, incorporate them into your daily prayers:

Deuteronomy 4:30-31 –
30 When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice 31 (for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers which He swore to them.
Deuteronomy 31: 6-8 –
6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
7 Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it. 8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

Joshua 1:5-9 -
5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Ruth 2:20
Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!”

1Kings 6:13
And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.

1 Chronicles 28:20
And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.

Psalm 9:10
And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

Isaiah 42:16
I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.

Matthew 28:20
I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Hebrews 5:16
I will never leave you nor forsake you.

I will keep you in my prayers!

Bless You

Excellent Lola

I am also remined of Proverbs 18 verse 24:

[24] A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

So in otherwords if you want to be less lonely you have to step out there so to speak and socialize a bit.

No, you don't come home to friends at night, but you do have a loving Savior who is with you 24/7. He DESIRES to overtake your heart so that you don't have those lonely feelings.

Whenever the enemy use to put loneliness on me, I would sit down and have a "heart to heart" with the Lord and become open and real with my feelings. It does wonders... The more I did it, the less the feelings were a part of me. The enemy desires for us to stay in that place in our minds, but he realized that the more he put that on me, the more I ran to God and it ended the cycle...Praise the Lord!!!

Praying for you!!!
