I need my fire back

Recommended Posts

Hello, I ask that you may all please pray for me and help me get my fire bk that i had for God when i first gave my life to Him. I'm 17 and i have slipped away a lot from where i was and i keep finding myself repenting every night about the same things and its getting frustrating because then i ask myself whether it will come to a point where God will give up on me and i dread it i know its wrong to think that but its my fault really and i just am so scared to be on of those people that Jesus says depart from Me you worker of iniquity and I'm determined to do what is right from this day so please may you stand in agreement with me that the gates of hell shall not prevail over my life and keep me in your prayers id really appreciate it. Thank You God Bless Jman x

Oh ManofGod17...you have the wrong outlook of God. He would NEVER tell you to depart from Him because He says that He will never leave you nor forsake you. God loves you beyond what you can think of or imagine and he says in Romans 8 that NOTHING can separate you from His love.

My prayer is that God would open up your eyes to the immeasurable love that He has for you and that God would reveal His presence to you on a daily basis.

Read 1 John 4...it gives you a beautiful picture of what his love means. You are in condemnation and you fear punishment and you don't have to. The things you keep repenting for have already been paid for through the blood of Jesus Christ. Rest my brother in the Lord...rest!!!

PRAISE THE LORD!!!

Don't feel stupid ManOfGod...that is not of God either. We all have those days where the knowledge that we have just doesn't connect. Strick it up as a lesson learned, dust off and move forward in His Love!!!!

The ENTIRE book of Galatians helped me through a season in my life where I experienced what I hear in your post. Read it in your private study time.

This particular verse taught me how to overcome the things I struggled with and had me bound...

Galatians 5:16 (AMP)
"But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God)."

Be encouraged!

I was reading last night in Galatians and I felt led to tell you to read Chapter 3 especially. As a matter of fact, I'll just copy and paste it here because I really feel like it will minister to you. I am going to highlight the verse that REALLY opened my eyes to what I was doing (unaware) and what I hear from you in the statement below..
i have slipped away a lot from where i was and i keep finding myself repenting every night about the same things and its getting frustrating because then i ask myself whether it will come to a point where God will give up on me and i dread it

Galatians 3 (KJV)
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.
16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.
18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Continue to be encouraged!

you know what virtuous i read the exact same thing and i was saying to myself wow this is ministering to me, i mean i read Galatians time and time again and that never stood out to me until last night, thank you for revealing to me that scripture because i would never of looked at it deeply otherwise.
And is it a question of just not doing the past sins when you know that your being led by the Holy Spirit iv you don't mind me asking

I'm not sure if I understand your question but I will try to answer it. If I miss it, just rephrase the question...K?

This scripture let me know that I was saved and filled with the Holy Spirit by the grace of God through faith. That same Holy Spirit through faith is what's going to keep me. I was trying to live "right" instead of trying to live "RIGHTEOUS" and holy. Now, when I'm faced with a struggle (sin), I trust in the Holy Spirit that is within me to make a way of escape so I will not fall into it.

Don't trust in your own ability. Trust in the power of God and the Holy Spirit that dwells in you to keep you. If you're walking in the Spirit, sin can't stay. It will come to test you; but it CAN NOT stay! The flesh and the spirit is always going to be at war. The "Stronger One" is going to over power the other. That's where the scripture that says "...the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak...". Therefore, we have to stay in the word because the "one" you feed the most is the "one" that's going to win!
