Late for Appointment

Post by D'Eloquence on Thu Jul 09, 2009 9:10 am

I have a general idea of what this dream is saying. I appreciate any insight. - Thanks, Ivy

I was having lunch at a nice restaurant with my boss and other people I felt comfortable with. I looked at my watch and realized that I missed my doctor's appointment. It was 12:15pm and my appointment was at 10:15am. I sat in my seat for a minute or two trying to decide if I was going to get up and try to make the appointment. I was late and had missed the appointment. I didn't see any reason to rush off. I decided to go anyway. I quickly got up from the table, told everyone good-bye, and jumped into my car.
I impatiently backed out of me parking spot, yelling at other drivers to move out of the way. Of course I was yelling to myself, since my windows were rolled up & other drivers couldn't actually hear me. As I rushed out of the parking lot, I speed down the road and missed my left turn at the hospital. I remember seeing a construction sight down the road. I had to make a U-turn to get back on track. As I made the U-turn there was a red SUV turning in the opposite direction. I told myself to slow down because I nearly hit it.
My appointment was at the hospital's medical office park. Once in the parking lot, I was having troulbe finding a parking space to fit in. For some reason I was driving on the sidewalk. I wasn't at the Endocrinologists office either (my specialist for hyperthyroidism). I was at my OBGYN's office. As my hunt for a parking space continued, I saw three teenagers walking through the office complex. All three of them were actor from television show (none that I'm familiar with). There were two girls and a boy. The boy really caught my attention. The girls were supporting the boy between them. He could barely walk and looked like he was going to pass out. When I saw them, I heard the Lord tell me to stop and minister to the young man. Fear got caught in my throat, and I continued to drive. I told the Lord if he really want me to minister to the boy, to bring him to me. I was too afraid to stop and talk to them, and I was rushing to an appointment.
I'm not sure how to describe the next events, but I ended up in the hospital helping the teenage boy. I don't know what was wrong with him or how I helped him. When the dream ended he was thanking me for praying for his deliverance. I had been late for an appointment and missed it (it seemed like there really wasn't an appointment). It took longer for the boy to get what he needed when the Lord brought him to me. I heard the Lord say "He didn't have to go through all that he went through." Had I stopped when I was told to, the boy would've been delivered and I would've made the appointment.

Their children, who do not this law, must hear it and learn to fear the LORD your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess
Keep my decrees and laws, for the man who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD
in your eyes the deliverance might seem coming late but not according to the Lord's timing.
deliverance and healing is a long process but the complete restoration of the soul and body are guaranteed.
Trust the Lord with all your might and do not lean on your own understanding.
God's help is on time even when it might seem coming late.

It seems like the Lord could be showing you the importance of obeying His direction and doing it promptly. I have heard it said that "delayed obedience" is disobedience. You did get up and obey what God told you to do, but you did it late in the dream. I belive God is wanting you to understand how important "timing" is when following His directions. I don't know if there is a specific thing the Lord has been dealing with you about, or if this is just "in general". Either way, the message of this dream seems to be clear -- your prompt obedience is extremely important. We are God's vehicle of ministry in the earth, and He has placed us in our neighborhoods and jobs, cities, and families for a certain purpose at such a time as this. It's important that we hear and obey His promptings when they are received. We don't always understand "why", but God does and we can rest in knowing that He understands everything involved and would never lead us astray. I think this is a very positive dream because it's giving you clear direction.

I want to give some thoughts on the first part of the dream. The fact that you forgot your appointment and then you were rushing around trying to get to this hospital and driving all over the place is important too I think.

This could mean that you need to slow down a bit and pay more attention to the details in your daily life. You recklessly driving your car could speak of the way you live your life. Are you often late for things? Do you rush around? Does it upset you when you miss an important detail? Being at the OB's office instead of your normal office is symbolic here. I feel like you trying to find your parking spot could symbolize you trying to find your place in God/life. It feels like you are all out of sorts and that is ruling your life.

The resolution in the dream is you "parking" and going into the hospital to help the boy the Lord told you to help. I believe the fact that you were at the OB's office speaks of you being called to be a spiritual mother. I feel like there could be a direction God has pointed you in or told you to go and you feel a little commitment anxiety. Like you would rather be back at that restaurant with your friends. In the end you do really want to do God's will and that is what sends you rushing to the hospital. I feel like God is saying if you will commit to the calling He has put on your life and lay down your life for others to mother them you won't have any missed appointments any more.
