Dream just before dawn

Post by M on Sun Apr 19, 2009 1:37 pm

. I have had a personal struggle with trying to become excellent at work, my frustration is that I am not able to reach the level I feel I should be at in dealing with customers and employees, Finance ......

Lately I have dreamed of driving around at night with no
lights on the car

So last night I dream that I was looking at the back of a
very large old and slightly beat bus. It was a Motor home bus, but the living
quarters were thirty or so individually separated small units, like cubicles
stacked as building blocks on wheels. My self and another fellow were putting a
new engine in the bus; we got the engine from a spare parts pile. We did
install the first one and I began to look for another because I felt like two
engines were needed for this behemoth machine. Still I wondered if the motor home
would flip over from being top heavy. It was white but a little dingy.

Scene change: I went to an old house we entered the front
door and inside it had no rooms. The ceiling was the old very ornate geometric
shapes type. Like the early 1900ís luxury type buildings. It was white but
could use paint. However, the ceiling was full of lights, clear bulbs different
sizes it was very bright inside . As we walked thru the building, I turned off some of the light switches
but they would not turn off. We exited the back door.

Scene change; I was observing very close up a skydiver. Before
jumping from the plane, I heard some one say you must land at that spot in the
clearing. He jumped out of the plane and
held his arms tight to his side and his legs straight out. As to aim himself to the predetermined spot on the ground. His parachute was small and had a round canopy,
not all of it was catching air and I told him to turn slightly as we were
falling, he did and the chute popped out completely. As he got near to the ground,
he came crashing thru the trees.( He missed the mark!) Not hurt but his chute was gone and I knew he
would fall some distance without aid of his chute. I awoke before he hit the
ground. I was not in a parachute I was just there with him some how.

Are you a manager on your job? The first and last scene of your dream tells me that you are equipped to make decisions, but you do not feel that your decisions are the best. You tend to second guess yourself (ie., wondering if the motor home would flip over with two engines.......telling the skydiver to turn slightly, but he still missed the mark). Maybe your "fear of failure" is what has you so frustrated with becoming excellent on your job. Could it be that you are doing a very good job at work, but YOU do not feel it is good enough? Who are you comparing yourself to? Are you setting unrealistic expectations for yourself? Just my thoughts. I'm not to sure about the building with all the lights. Not being able to turn off the lights could mean that you are not in control of a particular situation in your life (God is in control). Again, these are just my thoughts. huggins

Hello pwilso512,

Thanks I do believe you have captured the theme of this dream.
Yes you could say that I am the manager of my job, and I have been on a second guess bend for some time now. I am self employed and have been so for many years, I have tried my best to be honest and straight forward in my dealings and provide more than the customer pays for. So you would not say that my company is a business model. And I am wondering if I am running things the way God wants me to or if I have taken INTEGRITY too far. If it is mans work it will not prosper! Maybe God will give you more clues as to the meaning of the little cube rooms on the bus and some of the other symbols.
But you also made a very good statement when you said God is in control. Thank you Lord!
