Deer and a Door

Post by PastorG on Mon Sep 01, 2008 6:31 pm

A lady I know has submitted a couple of short dreams to me that she is wondering about. I would like to check in with you all to see what might come to you:

First dream: She is in a canoe with husband and daughter going down a river where there are lots of deer in the water. Some of them are doing well. Others are struggling. And some have died.

Second dream: She sees a yellow door, but it has come off it's hinges and she is warning her daughter to be careful of it.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Pstor G
I wonder if your friend and her family are somewhat struggling right now? Are they in the ministry and seeing people who are struggling spiritually and even some who are dead? I thought of the scripture about people being like "deers panting for water and their souls longing for God." I wonder if those deers represent people who really desire to hear a word from God and/or have complete restoration/healing/refreshing in their spiritual lives and your friend and her husband are the ones observing it and have the desire to help? Is there something in the woman's daughter's life that is a little 'shaky' or 'questionable'-like her lifestyle (is she saved)/does her life need to be put back on its hinges so to speak? Is her daughter afraid of something?
pray on what I've said

I thought of the same scripture as Desiree...and definitely thought that the deer were equated to sheep or God's people in this dream. I believe that both her and her family are called to minister to a body of people. Just the fact that some were struggling, some were dead (spiritually dead) and some were doing well - sounds like the general make up of a church body.
As for the yellow door- sounds like an opportunity is about to arise in her daughter's life that she needs be cautious of and to pray about before entering.

I concer ladies! heres the scripture: Psalm 42:1 "As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

3 My tears have been my food
day and night,
while men say to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go with the multitude,
leading the procession to the house of God,
with shouts of joy and thanksgiving
among the festive throng.

5 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and 6 my God.
My [c] soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.

7 Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.

8 By day the LORD directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

9 I say to God my Rock,
"Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
oppressed by the enemy?"

10 My bones suffer mortal agony
as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
"Where is your God?"

11 Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.

also the door may look attractive to her because of the bright color. It seems like the door represents a dangerous opportunity. Just like Una said.

Thankyou. The deer panting for the water scripture was the first thing on my mind as well. This lady is actually an Aglow President.
The door being yellow had me stumped, but I know that there are sometimes specific color meanings in dreams. Yellow can mean hope, on the positive side but on the negative side, depending on context, it can mean fear. I was wondering if it meant a doorway of opportunity but wasn't being taken because of fear....since she was warning her daughter to be careful.
