She technically wouldn't be your in-law just yet because you weren't married, just engaged. You were still in the process of entering the family.

Are you making any significant changes in a job, school, or club that your with?

Usually, that's the significance of family from my studies on dreams... but if it's not ministry and not a group, it may just be a warning to slow down on something.

If you don't have a network of support, you can't support what you care about the most to the fullest. Sure, you will have a good heart despite your lack of resources (which is why I think the brother was eventually cool with you), but yeah... if other people care about what you care about the most, they will be angry if you can't pull it off right. This isn't just for marriage, but for many interests.

If your into music, it's like getting an expensive classic guitar and not having the money to buy new strings with it or get an appropriate case. Guitar enthusiasts and musicians will look down on you (severely) if you don't treat that guitar like your baby.
