Discernment required

Post by mico on Fri Mar 20, 2015 7:59 am

I'm posting this question because I'm curious what other people make of the situation more than anything.  I don't expect anyone to have all the answers (because no-one has so far) but you just never know.  And I feel safe to ask here because SEVERAL people have posted about God "sending" them partners.

I have had many dreams of someone I used to know.  When I knew him, we were associates more than friends.  But he used to tell me stuff about his family and personal life, but never asked me much about myself.

I met this person right around the same time that I got a number of prophecies (from others and self) about a husband.

Never was sure if they related to him or not.  Seems not, because nothing ever came of it.

BUT I have had many dreams of him over the years.  in some dreams I would wake, not remembering any detail of the dream, but knowing that I had married him.

In other dreams there was reconciliation.

In other dreams there was annoyance and frustration.

Again in other dreams, it was as if I was looking on (these usually came after I asked God to show me what was going on).

I hadn't realised just how many dreams I've had of this person, but it seems to be a lot.

Actually, it's not so much a question, but does anyone have ANY discernment on this matter for me?  If it was a question, it would be "does anyone know what's going on here?".

** Just want to add, there have been other dreams where I've married other people as well. None of them seem to add up to anything much.

Did you know the people who prophesied your marriage?

No, they were complete strangers to me and I to them. One in particular, who was from another country, gave me a specific word. Not knowing what to make of her, I held it lightly. But just two or so years ago, I found out she was a good friend of someone I know from here, and without giving much away, I mentioned that she had given me a prophetic word. The woman I know (a ministry leader) commented on how this person would have been very careful to listen to God over it.

I had a prayer partner at the time, and only once, I felt to pray about "my husband". We both got the same words of knowledge.

I would believe that your husband is out there and your dreams and the prophecies are the truth. If the prophet is credible and you have had multiple witnesses then just thank God and ask Him for patience to wait.

:) Let us know when the package arrives.

Thanks Mia.  I had thought that maybe God DID have a person but that person didn't work out so the door closed.  I haven't had any words for many years now.

No, I don't feel like I've missed out.  I've always liked being single.  I just think that if God has chosen a person for you, it's sad that that particular person wouldn't work out.  I have always maintained the worst thing you can do is just marry for the sake of being married. Having said that, I know some people just want to be married and they are able to make just about anything work.  That's not me.

ok, i think the aspect of peaple dreaming of there future partners is very contentious, :hairraising: in prophetic teaching it is reccomended not to prophacy ;partners/ babys, the hard part with dreams is seperateing whats litral vrs the symbollik, ,,perhaps the man uve drmt of is a symboll of someone else, scratching chin we can make strong attachments to peaple who open themselves up, he may have just needed to share some person stuff wiv you,

I agree with D also. People are symbolic for other people in my dreams more than 50% of the time.
