Zombie Attack

Post by TheWhiteShadow on Tue Mar 17, 2015 2:49 pm

This one's kinda long...

This dream takes place somewhere in my town. It felt like it began close to my home, but there wasn't much of a focus on that. The first half of the dream has me trying to get away from that area.

I was being chased down by "zombies." Now, they're were zombies from a mental standpoint. Those chasing me were people I knew in real life, and they looked normal. Their mental state was zombie-like...you know, brainwashed or whatever. They weren't thinking for themselves.

I was driving through town in some kind of small car that wasn't my real life vehicle. Even driving felt like a struggle, like it took my physical effort to perform it. My emotions throughout the struggle were just...intense. Like, high-level anxiety in a "running for my life" kind of way. As I drove through town, I remember some "vehicles" coming to my aid from the direction I was headed. The vehicles are robot/cars - just like transformers from the movies. I felt some relief that help had been sent. We passed each other as I continued to flee while they headed to where I had come from to buy me some time.

Now, I had a passenger in my car as well, though he didn't become a focus until the next part in this chase...

I was now on the other side of town from my home. For whatever reason, I could no longer drive; instead, I got out of the car and continued on foot, running. It was like I didn't have the strength to drive? I think this is meant to illustrate my weakening in this struggle. Anyway, my passenger also got out of the car, and now this person had some focus: The passenger was like a teenage boy, and the boy had Down Syndrome. I took him by the hand/arm and pulled him along as I ran, trying to keep him safe. I knew that he couldn't physically handle running at my pace, so I slowed myself just a bit to keep him going. In my mind, I feared that we were going to be caught if I kept at this pace. I hoped that our pursuers had been delayed just enough for us to reach our destination - whatever that was going to be. I knew it was just ahead, though...

We reached out destination just in time, it seemed. Just before the intersection of this road and the highway were two people and their cars: One was my mother, and the other was my aunt (her sister). I was so glad to see them, but I didn't have time to rest quite yet. My mother directed me into her car, and I first guided the boy into the car's backseat. Then, I got in the front passenger seat of the car, which was facing the highway - which is the direction I had been running. I clearly expected my mother to help us escape....but....

My mother got into the backseat with the boy, and I suddenly and surprisingly found that the car was backwards from what I understood it to be. In other words, I was the one in the backseat and my mother and the boy were up front - with my mother driving. She took off, and she was taking us back to where the pursuers were! This was not what I wanted...but, yet, I didn't argue. I was afraid, but I trusted my mom (who, as usual, has to be the Holy Spirit).

As my mother drove us back to where I had fled from, we suddenly had another person in the car with us. He's a man named Joe, about 7 years younger than me, who is a friend/acquaintance from years back. We're not really that close, anymore, but we're on good terms. Joe was with us because he needed help - his brother, Mike (a year younger than me and a former best friend) was one of the zombies. He wasn't a leader, but he also wasn't the lowest in their hierarchy, either. I knew that my mother was taking all of us back for a confrontation.

At this point, I realized something about the boy that was in the front seat with my mother: He wasn't wearing his seatbelt, and it was intentional. This action/choice made me realize that...well, he wasn't as "handicapped" as I had understood him to be. He was well aware of everything, had plenty of understanding, and wasn't as physically limited as I had believed. I immediately distrusted him after this realization, but I didn't turn it into a point of focus. I just commanded him to put his seatbelt on, and I knew that the way that I said it made it clear to him that I was aware of his "game." He complied, and he really wasn't a focus after that.

We neared my home, which, in real life, is close to a hospital. We drove past this hospital and I saw those zombies everywhere on its grounds. Walking on the sidewalk, I saw Joe's brother, Mike. We stopped the car and Joe and I ran up to him. In an instant, I grabbed him by the head with either hand on his temples and forced him to the ground. At this point, I knew he was a zombie because he "had a demon." He looked straight up to the sky, making no eye contact, and I placed my face as close to his as I could without touching him. I had a flash thought that he might bite me, but I put that fear aside. Without any thought, I began praying in the Spirit. I still had feelings of being afraid and anxious, but I also had this crazy feeling of authority in me. The dream ends at this point.

I have no idea if he's literal or not, but for whatever it's worth, it's Mike's birthday, today. It's unlikely that he and I will have any contact since we haven't spoken in a very long time.

Hmmm...that's unexpected!

My fitness is presently a focus of mine since I let myself go a bit over winter and it's been a struggle to get into a healthy groove. But, it does consume my thoughts a great deal.

Now I'm quite curious as to what you saw that made you ask!

Running, the boy with health problems, being near a hospital at the end, and turning to face it when you didn't really want to.

I don't think this has fully happened and is more to come though.

That is interesting! I think you're right on, then. Thank you for explaining this to me.

I'm hoping that this isn't more serious than just my anxiety over my present health/fitness. I've been struggling since the start of the year to dig in, eat right, and be consistent with my workouts. I've expressed this to God quite often - that I really do need his help in this. I was incredibly fit just six months ago, and it's got me quite upset to see how far I've slipped in such a short period of time.

Things have really picked up since the weekend, though. I've been incredibly motivated this week - unlike any time yet this year. I am eating right, haven't missed a workout, and I've got motivation to spare.

So, I'm wondering if the first half of the dream was to show me my struggle up to this point...and now I'm in the 2nd half? I hope...

Did your concern with your health/fitness match the anxiety in the dream?

Well, it was pretty intense in the dream, but it's probably exaggerated compared to real life. Nothing in real life feels that intense.

But, in real life, the anxiety emotion is constant/consuming because I'm always thinking about my current physical state.

I think most of this is yet to come.  In the end, the situation will require facing the stress and using that internal power/authority.

It's mostly a comforting dream that you are stronger than this.  Our Father wants you to shine, brother. So when the time comes, remember that you win.
