Raging bears, slow truck and a train to nowhere...

Post by writer4him on Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:11 am

My brother's dream:

He was going fishing with his grandson.  At the lake, they crossed paths with a pickup truck carrying two families in the back.  Nearly everyone stared straight ahead, blank-eyed, except one woman.  She called out to them to get into the truck because something was wrong with the animals.  He declined, saying they would be fine and walked to the water's edge.

When he looked into the water, he saw a bear and a wolf engaged in an underwater struggle.  The bear was winning though the wolf fought hard and there was another bear pulling on the hind quarters of the wolf.  All three animals were under water.

He and the child backed away from the water but one of the bears saw them and reared up out of the water to pursue.  They ran and jumped into the truck with the others.  The driver sped off but seemed to be moving slower than normal. Meanwhile the street behind filled with bears in hot pursuit and devouring everything in their paths.

The driver drove down a side street which went down a steep hill; there was a train crossing the street at the bottom of the hill.  As they reached the bottom, the train coasted to a stop and was blocking their street.  With no room to drive around the train, he grabs his grandson and leaps from the truck; the woman grabs her son and follows suit. They run to the train and find a ladder that leads to the top of the train.

The four of them climbed on top of the train and lay flat, trying to cover the children.  They learned that the train could not move because the bears had attacked and killed the engineer, so the called to the rest of the people in the back of the truck to climb on top of the train.  The people just sat there, zombie-like, appearing to have given up and resigned themselves to their fate.  Not a single one screamed as they were being devoured.

The bears then turned their attention to the train, found the ladder and clambered towards the top. They grabbed the woman and snatched her off the train.  He grabbed both children and began running, telling them not to look back or down.  At this point, he awakened from the dream.

Emotions: He says he felt horrified, like he couldn't get away fast enough.  He also felt like he was in a hopeless, helpless situation but had not given up yet and was upset with the driver who insisted on taking side streets rather than heading straight out of town, and wouldn't drive fast enough.  In addition, he noticed the bears seemed highly intelligent, not acting purely on animal instinct.

He's really troubled by this dream and we would appreciate help interpreting.

Thanks and God Bless!

That is interesting because he has remembered more details about the dream. The man driving the trick was the husband of the woman. They were quarreling about his driving ie taking too long to leave the town and not driving fast enough to 5 escape the bears.
