Life is a Highway

Post by Beaubyen on Sat Sep 13, 2014 11:29 am

I was traveling a highway and missed the bypass ramp. The one I took was immediately congested so I looked for a way off. I drove around everyone and I asked a man at a tollbooth-like stand how to get back to the bypass and he told me I could leave my car there and then showed me how to get to it. I was just walking away from the car when I realized I couldn't leave it because Willie, my dog, was in it. I think I turned toward the car, i'm not sure.

I then asked these two other men what my options were. One man showed me a map with underground tunnels and showed me the one I could take (I was trying to get to Hwy 301 in Florida). He said to be careful though because two Al Qaida camps were in this tunnel and if they saw me they'd likely go after me. That wasn't an option for me, so I asked if there was another one and just as he's telling be about that one, my alarm went off and I awakened.

Are you at a place where you are looking for direction in you life? Driving in a car can be prophetic for your real life.

The symbols seem to be reflect looking for an easier/faster way to get where you're going and that you might not trust your own decisions based on past experiences.

Yes! I am coming out of two very difficult years in ministry and God has had me in a place of transition and rest for the past 6 months or so. I do tend to be in a hurry for God to work in my life :). Yes, I'm in a hurry to get where I feel God leading. :) Doors have opened for me again in ministry that are the very doors that opened and caused me so much grief this past two years. I know in my heart of hearts that even if God is calling me to the same opportunity, that He is sovereign and will be with me in it. I have received the following "word" twice in the past month Is. 48:10 "Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tried you in the furnace of affliction." I believe God might be telling me that I'm now ready to walk through the door I wasn't ready for two years ago, and that if I look back (Luke 9:62) to the circumstances of the past, I'm not trusting Him and "not fit for His kingdom." His Spirit will guide my decisions!

Thank you so much for your reply!
May God continue to bless you and your ministry!

When you were given direction from someone who knew the way you decided you couldn't do that because of other responsibilities.... does this also ring a bell?

Yes to a degree. Both times - two years ago - and now, I actually did and now do other ministry (but two different from each other); this door opening would be in addition to, but could also lead me completely out of my current position. I really believe that is the direction God is moving. That the current position I hold is temporary. My difficulty is in waiting; though I believe I see where He is going, I'm my own worst enemy in waiting on Him :) His timing is perfect.
