Blocks Of Ice

Post by TheWhiteShadow on Mon Oct 14, 2013 7:48 am

In real life, there isn't much going on.  The only major thing that I'm seeking God on is whether to adopt a cat, again.  It's been over a year since I put my sick cat to sleep.  I think that I want to adopt another (or two), but I want to know what God has to say on it.  I visited the local Humane Society over the weekend and found a bonded pair of 6 month old males, most likely brothers as they were found together as strays and look very similar.  They are only adoptable as a pair since they are so attached to each other.

One of last night's dreams:

I stood in front of this machine that was about the size of a large appliance - like a fridge or stove.  It was rectangular, but I don't recall much more than that for detail.  Someone stood there with me.  The machine did something that produced these two, nearly identical, large blocks of ice.  Each block was the size of a salt block, like one square foot.  Inside each solid block of ice was one small fish, like a goldfish, and one plastic decoration to go with it.  I think that both blocks had something like a plastic palm tree.  A person could take these blocks, thaw them, and have an "instant" fish tank.

No emotions stand out to me.

Hi! My name is Anita and I have enjoyed reading all of the post and insights and this place really is a Godsend.

I want to write to you and to share the story about my cats. I am praying and seeking God's direction for my two kittens which I am giving away free to a good home. I really love these kittens, they are four months old, very sweet and both are calico a girl and a boy which is very rare. Since they were two months old someone wanted to adopt them, but God gave me a dream to still keep them at my home and to wait. Last week I almost decided to give them to a new home but I wasn't sure about that so I prayed to God and He gave me a dream to not give away my kittens to this family. Now I am still waiting and praying that my kittens will go to a loving home where they can be loved. I still have two beautiful cats who also gets so much attention and love.

Mark,

What stands out to me is the ice. What could the ice represent? I am not a cat lover, but to a lot of people say they are warm and loving. If this dream is about the cats, could the ice represent their characteristics? Maybe because the have been strays, their characteristics may be a little cold.

Ice melts, as we all know, and the fish within the ice and the tree could represent a "good catch". A palm tree usually symbolizes wealth or fruitfulness. Once the ice wears off, could God be showing you that you have a good and fruitful catch in these two cats?

Not sure...just tossing some thoughts out there...

Anita -

Thanks for sharing your personal situation with your own kittens. I love how God is directing you with them. He knows who is the perfect fit for them, and He will reveal that to you at the appropriate time.

Cholette -

I didn't take the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with the kittens when they offered it to me last weekend, so I don't yet know what their personalities may be. I didn't dare hold them or anything, lest I be swayed into making an emotional decison. I know that if I held them, they'd already be moved in by now. :)

I like what you shared on the various symbols from this dream. I was honestly stumped by them. I saw the connection between the two blocks of ice and, maybe, the cats...but, I had nothing on what the details might mean. I never felt a yea or nay about them in the dream.

I'm planning to visit the Humane Society again...probably Friday before work. That would be my time to interact with them. Then, if everything seems ok, I'd go ahead and adopt them on Saturday. I'm desperate to hear a "No" from God if He truly doesn't want me to do this. I really am trying to acknowledge Him in "all my ways..."

I believe you are safe to get them if you want them Mark. The Bible says:

The godly care for their animals, but the wicked are always cruel. Proverbs 12:10 (NLT)

God put that desire in you to adopt. If he does not say anything to stop you, I believe it is His Will for you. Remember, he may not "say" anything, but he definitely will LEAD you in peace. If you feel peace about it, then it's of God.

Thanks for this!   I met the kittens "officially" today, and I'll be bringing them home tomorrow.  All anxiety on this issue was gone this morning.  Quite an awesome feeling!

Let's see if I can get a picture of them up in this thing:
