Getting the mom I have always needed and longed for!

Post by Daisy on Sun Jan 20, 2013 6:34 am

I had a dream that this mom and dad were joining forces. These two were going to get married, or recently did get married. I was in the process of deciding if I wanted to stay in the family or not. The mom had many sons, who were in my opinion a little loud. I remember being hesitant to join this family bc of the boys. I remember being a passenger in an extended Expedition vehicle with all of these boys, the new mom was driving. I was in the back with the boys. They weren't bad boys, just loud. I think I was part of the dad's side of the family, but Im not quite sure. I remember there were more siblings on his side of the family as well. Neither of these parents are my parents in real life. IRL my parents are both very unhealthy, physically and emotionally. These parents in the dream were very healthy, and strong. I could tell by looking at them that they were both old enough to be my parents, but they did not look weathered by life at all (This part makes me emotional to type. Both my parents have struggled with poverty, addictions, abuse, and totally didn't take good care of us bc of these battles. They both are very young parents in their early 50's but their health is horrible mentally and physically. Out of all my friends I have the youngest parents, yet with the worst health.) These parents in the dream took very good care of themselves, you could tell by looking at them. I was the age I am now. I didn't have my kids or husband with me in the dream. We all (those who were in the Expedition with me) came to the house where I would be living, if I chose to stay in this family. The house was so rich. I remember looking around. There was plenty of room. It was large, but not cold. It had a very warm feel to it. This house and family was lacking nothing. The furniture and woodwork throughout the house was a warm rich brown tone. Very clean and not cluttered. I went from room to room, really liking everything. There was activity going on in the house. There were siblings coming in and out, but nothing seemed to crowded or overwhelming. I remember thinking to myself, my parents in this family will be able to send me to college...like I have always wanted!!! (IRL my parents could not afford to send me to college) I also remember realizing that this mom would be able to mother me like I have always wanted and needed! (IRL I very much have a void from my real mom, who abandoned me as a child moving out of state while I was very young. I never had the true nurturing or training that should come from a mom from my real mom. The relationship has been restored today, but she still lacks the ability to be the mom I need or desire. She is incapable of being unselfish, and of nurturing.) I decided in the dream, that this family would be the family that I will chose to stay in. This is where I felt all my needs would be met, and restoration of everything I was lacking and longing for would take place!!! happy dance

Ooooh, maybe spiritual parents? I think of some as my spiritual mothers :) Isaiah 49 is an excellent scripture that's bubbling up in my heart right now for some reason...

Isaiah 49:8-26 (NIV)
[8] This is what the Lord says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances, [9] to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ “They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill. [10] They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water. [11] I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up. [12] See, they will come from afar— some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan. ” [13] Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones. [14] But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.” [15] “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! [16] See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. [17] Your sons hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you. [18] Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the Lord, “you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride. [19] “Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away. [20] The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, ‘This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.’ [21] Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these—where have they come from?’ ” [22] This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders. [23] Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the Lord; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” [24] Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives rescued from the fierce ? [25] But this is what the Lord says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save. [26] I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Thank you so much for this strong confirmation Laura!!! What a blessing you are!!! We just found a new church. On the outside surface its a lot different than my old church. If you look at it from the outside, the building is not as new or flashy. Its nice though, not run down. But the feel from the people I am getting is amazingly warm! There is a great diversity of age groups in this church. Many young families, but also a large senior population. The first sunday I came to this church, an elderly gentleman met me at the visitor parking area with a huge umbrella to escort me and the kids inside, as it was pouring! Pretty impressive if you ask me!! This church put a good effort in with the kids ministry, which is super important to me. The kids always come out with bible lessons theyv'e learned. Bc of the large senior community, Im sure there may be a spiritual mom there to mentor me. My only hesitation in really joining myself and fully committing to this church at this point is the possiblity of us moving in the next 5 months out of state. That is the only thing that makes me wonder if this awesome dream is for NOW, or for our NEXT move....finding that church home when and if we relocate?

I LOVE this passage of scripture you posted!! Very encouraging and uplifting!! God has personally spoken part of this scripture to me several times...the part about God wants to give me as a covenant to His people. I know I am supposed to be planted and rooted in the local church. We have been transitioning, since moving muliple times....and I REALLY am longing to be rooted and planted in a local body (not only for myself, but for my kids). Thank you for the encouragement, and the confirmation!!! thank you
