Flood Dreams

Post by KDRE on Tue Oct 23, 2012 10:41 am

Hi All

Im back again, not surprisingly I guess

I try looking things up here before I post and I don't always get a clear answer

I had a dream of a flood last night and im not sure what to make of it

I was like in a place, a home a building, something looking out of a window

There was a street in the near distance, but it wasn't faced my way, rather it was in the direction of right to left, so I had sort of a side view of it.

I saw a huge flood sweep the street across.. not knowing where it came from or anything, it was an observation. It never came near me or anything but I also didnt see anything destroyed, but I'd imagine something with that much power and that high from my view could have easily. Waters never came to where I was, but I can't say I totally felt like I was the one in danger

Are these types of dreams more common to believers than I may know of?

I have had a few dreams where things appeared that they were going to harm me but they didnt... this dream may represent that God wants you to know that you are in a secure place with him and even if there is pendingn danger you will not be affected by it- psalm 91 says a thousand will fall at my side 10 thousand at my right but it shall come near thee.. the house may represent a his refuge or refuge in God - as long as you take refuge in him you will the danger around you but it will not harm you.. God may want you to not worry about whatever you see around you

They are fairly common for me. I just had a flood dream eleven days ago, from my perspective, and I knew it was going to be in the news although it happened from my perspective. You were probably dreaming about the floods hitting the Caribbean right now due to the hurricane.

God has taught me to pray when I get these dreams and to seek Him to find out what they are about.

Dreams we dream are so much more literal than people have been taught. In your case, I would pay attention to these dreams and happenings in the news. You might be called as an intercessor to the world.

Good Lord!

You know I didn't even know about that, Mia

I was actually always taught to tell a dream as a dream by my former pastor..go figure. Not that I took it that way because of personal experiences :)

I'll say this if I am honestly supposed to hear God and pray for events, I think that my fasting has been the main reason I could pinpoint to anything as to why Im not catching things fast enough

This is the 2nd dream you've said was literal to me in the past 3 weeks or so. I dont know what to think of it

LordChaser... that's one of my favorite scriptures..I love that Psalm!

Well, praise God! Things are beginning to fall into place so keep your eyes open.

The Lord poured out world dreams and opened up the prophetic to me in an amazing way when I went on a Daniel fast about seven years ago.

I was told if I fasted for 2 days no food just water, or was it no food or water.. God would start to open up dreams to me

I would do a day until a certain times, for days in a row but never 2 days straight

I have no idea how to prepare my body for that... but Ill take any suggestions

My suggestion is a Daniel fast. You don't go any time at all without food, it's more a matter of exercising self-control in your search for God. I did it by eating nothing processed whatsoever, no meat, no seasonings, and no alcohol. Daniel ate no "pleasant bread" which to me meant anything desirable, so for three weeks I only ate to survive and ate the blandest diet possible. I would eat as much as I wanted but it had to be very basic. It was TOUGH but WOW! The transformation in my life was A-MA-ZING.

The key is not just fasting though.... it's seeking Him. Start your day, everyday during your fast, seeking Him. I would take up to an hour in prayer and then study the word and listen to praise music all throughout the day, at every possible chance.

3 weeks...wow

Im not so concerned about eating or not in a sense, I just know in wisdom's sense that you can't just hop on one anytime you want to

I was used to going a time without food, just water and the more I did it, the easier it got which was great

Thank You Mia because you gave me a push to go ahead and do what was already in my heart this morning which is to fast.

I was just reading Daniel 1:12 yesterday where it says Daniel and his friends had "vegetables to eat and water to drink." The footnote in my Bible says "the word translated 'vegetables' refers to seeds and the sowing of seeds, so this diet includes not only vegetables, but all fruits, grains, herbs, seeds and nuts."

I just started fasting this week too but I'm doing no carbs AT ALL this time. This will probably be just as hard.

When I fast and eat no carbs, I've found Esiac tea helps my headaches/ general withdrawals. Another two cents. lol!

Did you know that in dreams when you are looking out of a window that it is usually a prophetic dream and you are "seeing" the future through the window?

You didn't see the outcome though so it can still change. Even if you did, God answered prayer can change that.

That's why the bible says we prohesy in part. We usually just get part of the picture.

I used to have a picture on my website, a quarter of a picture and explained that's about how much we see of the whole picture. It doesn't mean what we see is wrong, we just don't see it all. God shows us what we need to see to do what He wants us to do. Pray. That's prophecy. Most times we don't see the entire picture, but we see some of it. We don't get an incorrect message, it's just not the entire picture.

I prophesy in part all the time. I had a night vision (not the same as a dream) about Hurricane Katrina. The Lord showed me a hurricane. The vision God showed me in this prophecy were delays associated with the hurricane. I could see ships being tossed around like toys. What I
didn't see was broken levees, or where the hurricane would hit, or that many people would die. It didn't mean the prophecy was wrong, it just wasn't the entire picture, although it was a few pieces of it.

This never would mean that the piece of prophecy that we get is incorrect, it simply means that we only see a small part of the picture.

I do understand that much more these days than I did before

I was explaining to Cholette. Have you ever seen someone move in their gift seemingly so natural? Seems like they hear God's voice clear as day and they know exactly what to do and say?

Well I dont feel like that lol, and I almost feel as though if I am a little more inclined to say something to someone, it almost feels like im going out on a limb...or its not very much to say so it most of the time doesn't make sense to me

Have you ever felt this way in the middle of a church service?

lol! I literally wrote this morning, on my list of things to do, "Write about prophetic stumbling." To inspire people who are learning how to walk in the prophetic.

I am going to do exactly that, TODAY!

SMH

I guess it really is time for us to talk more

I need it especially since I've moved on to somewhere I can operate in the gift if I feel the go ahead for someone in the church
