Brother's farewell and In Christ Alone - Possible Manifestation

Post by Paul RT on Fri Dec 19, 2008 7:48 am

I attended my brother Peter’s farewell from the Navy. I was helping keep his wallet safe on my body. He appeared to be drunk and being sentimental
I woke to the song In Christ Alone playing in my head:
"In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand."

I just read an Email from my denominational regional administration. It had attached a summary of a meeting of pastors. Some of this document states:

“How can we identify, nurture and equip up and coming leaders in our Church?
Recognition that it is the responsibility of the local church to do this – and not left exclusively to (bible college). In ongoing church life should take place inadvertently, surreptitiously, and intentionally. The local church should search for those with aptitude; intentionally mentor people”

I was given another song:

Lyrics of “Deliver Us” (Prince of Egypt)

'River, o river, Flow gently for me, Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere he can live free?
River, deliver him there... Brother, you're safe now and safe may you stay
For I have a prayer just for you: Grow, baby brother
Come back someday Come and deliver us, too...'

Conclusions: God is in control, not to be afraid, and that He will lead me out into a new Ministry to do with leadership

Possible Manifestation: My brother Peter has been diagnosed with a serious blood disorder earlier this year, which is treatable but not curable. This may be prophetic about his end times on earth. Hopefully I will be able to minister to him, particularly as he is the only one of my siblings who isn’t a Christian.

paul,

Good to see you again,we thank God for coming through for you in family and job.

I love the first song very much,it speak of resting in the LOrd.it talks about the very attributes of the LOrd that keep abide in him ,peace,grace,love,compassion,etc.His glory.

the farewell can be symbolic.

I agree with your intertpretation,but do not share with Him that he gonna rest .I also know he will aknowlegde God.Just minister to him.

I am not saying he gonna die soon.

why did you think this is his last times?

Hi Peter

My brother is in his 60s and has had a lifestyle which has had its consequences on his body which is typical for the navy, plus he's worked with some nasty chemicals in his occupation.

I've been trying to organise a time to visit him, but this has been put off several times by his medical treatments.

When our father was about to die God called on me to minister to him just beforehand, and I feel I'm getting a call to spend some time with my brother. I can't say for sure that he is close to death but I just want to be obedient.

Thanks for your interest

In His Precious name

Paul
