Still praying for a good job

Recommended Posts

2nd quarter of 2012- no job! Haven't had a single interview or solid lead. I know God answers prayers, yet on this vital issue God has been silent. I have prayed, cried and its the same. Overladen, i poured my heart out to God for help. Instead this morning, i dreamt of someone taking advantage of my situation. I cried to God why am i being shown this? 3 years of no job, no income, depending on my parents-one of whom passed away last year. I've cried and cried to God. His word says He will not abandon us, says He will provide for us, says He is our ever present help. So Lord, are You going to remain silent as this shame&reproach overwhelms me? You have delivered me in the past, please deliver me in this critical issue. I've to really provide for my son- not keep begging people for money for our survival.

Hi princessdelia,

I know from experience that sometimes God is a last minute God - providing needs at the 11th hour. I went through something similar years ago. I claimed His provision and prayed. I was very specific in what I wanted and turned down several jobs because it wasn't what I desired and I know God wants to give us what our hearts desire.

Well, I was applying to be a teacher and I wanted a job in this one school district because I went to school there, substituted there and knew some administrators. It also paid the most in all of north Texas! I wanted a job teaching secondary school. I went on three interviews in that district and was always told, "It came down to you and another person and the other person had more experience." School was starting soon and here I had turned down three other jobs in other districts (the program I was under required that we apply in more than one district.) It was about five days before school started and I was about to give up and thought I'd be substituting again. Well, I got a call from an ELEMENTARY school and I knew someone on the panel REALLY well. Anyway, as I was driving I prayed, "Lord, pleeeease give me this job. (I was begging at this point) Then I'll never forget what He said to me, "Do you want this job?" I said, "No Lord." "Then why are you asking Me for it? Don't you know I can provide a job above all you could ever ask or imagine?" I'll be honest. I still was thinking this would be my last opportunity and didn't know what God had up His sleeve. I didn't get that job either. Then, THREE DAYS before school started I got a call. It was 5:00 on Friday, school started on Monday. It was SECONDARY and I got the job! I had a lot of freedom to do what I wanted from the principal and had great training for what I now do. I also got to miss all the mindless teacher training most schools put teachers through at the beginning of the year! But what I did earlier was pray with expectation. I'm disappointed with myself in one regard and that is that I was willing to accept a job that was a little less than what I had originally asked God for. But God proved Himself to be faithful despite my shortcomings.

I'll tell you another thing that I did. I reminded Him of His Word. I stated with confidence that this is what His Word says and that I was declaring His promises! I also know that I have authority and dominion over this earth because of the cross. Sometimes we have to rebuke satan and stand our ground. Could the person in your dream that was taking advantage of you be satan? Have you claimed your God-given authority in this matter? Claim what is not seen as seen.Dare to ask God for what you want and be specific. Your job is already yours in the heavenly realm. Now expect the manifestation of it in the earthly. I'll believe with you, "for where two or more are gathered in agreement, it shall be done!"

Be blessed!

Shannon

I so agree with Shan. God is looking for us to rise up in our authority and declare what already belongs to us. The Word of God is sharper than any two edge sword and it slices and dices any obstacles that try to come and keep I from coming to pass. Speak it out of your mouth...His Word...because it will not return void. Even when you don see it right away, continue to prophesy to the atmosphere until it comes.

Shan, sorry for the long silence. Still in expectation of the job! I've had several dreams about it recently. So I am believing that soon the manifestation will be here!!! AMEN!!
It was beyond words, God lifted me up. Exalted me from the depths where I am and showed His glory to all. God provided a helper for me and my son & I moved out of my mother's house at last. We were excited as we packed and rejoiced together. I helped people in the position God gave me, and I was rewarded with an even higher position. (SEVERAL DREAMS are condensed here!!)

Lord, I know You started this good work and shall bring it to fruition, in your precious name. AMEN
