neighbor man starts roof on fire

Years ago, my family and I lived in a townhouse--it was a little house attached to 7 other houses, all sharing the same roof. Last night I had a dream a next-door neighbor(and he wasn't a neighbor I ever had, past or present, just someone I vaguely know) started his portion of his townhouse roof on fire. I was very angry with him. I told him the legal ramifications for arson and for endangering my own house. I noticed the fire tried to destroy my own roof--it had been recently shingled with black shingles--but wasn't successful. I was still very, very angry.

I think this dream might have to do with my father-in-law who is so addicted to cigarettes he smokes them in front of my husband and son even though the second-hand smoke makes them sick. There was recently a big confrontation with him over this issue and he's gotten better about not doing it anymore, but I've been around this mountain with him so many times I don't have a lot of faith this will be the last time.
