This reminds me of Numbers 13:33 where the majority of Israel's spies agreed they were "like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight" to the giants they saw in the Promised Land. Inferiority is a word that comes to mind. When people look at their own strength they get intimidated; when people look at a strong God working through them, their perspective changes--that's why Caleb and Joshua had such a different report than the other spies.
