What does a couch represent?

Post by tbsmilesbig on Sat Jan 14, 2012 1:57 am

Hi everybody!

I'm trying to figure out what couches represent? I have dreams where they seem to be an important part of the dream a lot.

Thoughts?

Depending on the context of your dreams and how the couches represent in them....but I would say a place of rest or on the negative side, a place of denial.

Hmmm. I'm trying to understand what a couch represents because I'm making a dream symbol list for myself. Okay, let me share a bit about the dreams:

1st dream - I am sitting on a couch and a little girl comes up to me, so I put her on the couch next to me.

2nd dream - A guy I was interested in was sitting on a couch. I debated whether to sit directly next to him or whether I should sit on the couch behind that couch (the couches were back to back). I ended up sitting on the couch directly next to him.

And then various other dreams where I noticed a couch was in the room.

Hi thesmiles big! I immediately think of rest when I think of a couch, but like freeprincess said..the context of the dream does make a difference. When you mention the guy...was it a smaller couch, like a loveseat? A couch can be a place of rest to me, also a way of escape (watching tv on the couch), a place for snuggling or comfort, or a place to entertain company (cozy or personal conversations). Just my thoughts...

Ephesians 2:8,9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Tbsmilesbig....by what you said about the little girl coming to you and then you considering whether or not to sit by the guy...it sounds like its more about getting to know someone more..."come a little closer" comes to mind...With the guy, you were considering 'how' to do it...which is usually what happens when someone is trying to get closer to or getting to know someone of the opposite sex.

Hi Daisy. The couch I sat on next to the guy was a normal size, not a love seat.

Thanks so much for posting, SIC! I can totally see how a couch could be a symbolism for relationships.

I recall from Mia's dream dictionary that couches often ( with the usual disclaimers mentioned previously) often mean being in agreement with or. In partnership with someone. It may be a romantic relationship but it isn't limited to that...

Once again you have proved your relationship with God is right on track. I believe you are spot on about this interpretation, this is a confirmation to me. Thankyou for sharing the wisdom the Lord has given you.
