The Man With The Bow and Arrow

Post by TheWhiteShadow on Mon Jan 09, 2012 9:38 am

Hello, All -

This dream had a feel like I was watching a movie. I saw an evil man, and I was shown that he had a plan to kill someone using a bow and arrow. The man had trained himself by shooting a human-shaped target over and over in the head. The man seemed to have a motive like revenge for something. When the man was prepared, he put his plan into action.

The man was going to do a stunt of sorts. It seemed to be a reenactment of the whole William Tell apple-shooting stunt. With a large audience present, the man knew that his target - another man - was in the crowd. He called the man out of the crowd and instructed him to set an apple on his head. Naturally, the target man was afraid, but the evil man reassured him that everything would be fine.

At this point, my perspective changed, and I was no longer "in the movie." This is where it felt like I was watching it on TV. Knowing that the evil man was indeed going to kill his target, I closed my eyes like I was a child coming up on a scary scene in a movie so that I wouldn't have a visual to remember that would scare me later.

This dream seems a bit random to me! I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts.

Hi Whiteshadow,

Not an interpretation, just something I read this morning.
Psalm 64

Kindof reminds me of this plotting and devices of evil to destroy the just...but it comes with a promise of Gods intervention, for those who trust in Him.

Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint;
preserve my life from dread of the enemy.

Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked,
from the throng of evildoers,
who whet their tongues like swords,
who aim bitter words like arrows,
shooting from ambush at the blameless,
shooting at him suddenly and without fear.

They hold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of laying snares secretly,
thinking, “Who can see them?”
They search out injustice,
saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.”
For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

But God shoots his arrow at them;
they are wounded suddenly.
They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them;
all who see them will wag their heads.

Then all mankind fears;
they tell what God has brought about
and ponder what he has done.

Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD
and take refuge in him!
Let all the upright in heart exult!
(Psalm 64 ESV)

Hoping for an interpretation or guidance for you concerning this.

naturally, the scripture of the devil prowling around like a lion seeking a victim to devour comes to mind

watch yourself and pray for any believers you know personally

I totally appreciate what both of you have shared with me! Thanks for speaking up!

I will share with you what I found out after I posted the dream here. See, I also shared it with a friend of mine - spiritually, we seem to work in tandem. She owns a Christian bookstore and comes across many different people on any given day. Well, as I said, I shared the dream with her. Turns out that this dream was a reminder of someone she just spoke to a couple days ago. This person had been speaking to her and her husband about William Tell. I mean, who talks about that?! But God knew that I'd share it with her, and used that to prompt her to pray.

I'm not saying that this is the only reason for the dream, but for now it has served a specific purpose.

Thanks again for your thoughts and scriptures. I really appreciate them!
