carrying a rifle on a missions trip

Post by Deborah on Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:12 am

I had a dream I was with some church people I do not know in real life. I felt like an outsider, but then I shared with them a testimony of how I walked out forgiveness in real life and they started accepting me a little bit.

Then we were all on a train. It was like we were on a missions trip or something. The train conductor came to us and addressed us and said he was a Christian too and he supported what we were doing. Again I felt like an outsider, no one would sit with me. I carried a hunting rifle (a 3030), a microphone with a long, long cord on it and a blanket. Nobody else had anything like that. I was wondering if the people who weren't in my group were thinking I was a terrorist or something because I was carrying such a big gun.

I havent taken the dream test
But dosnt this all fit in with you feeling like an outsider
a gun, for protection, you have your gaurd up
a microphone, because you want to be heard and accepted
a blanket, to comfort you, a security blanket
are you feeling like the Church your at isnt a good fit for you
just my thoughts

The day after I had the dream, I attended a community event where there were a several people who hurt me in the past--I was a homeschooling mom for 12 years and people said and did some really hurtful things to me mostly out of ignorance. (My son, for example, who is 6'8" and a talented basketball player had to sit on the bench 98% of the time simply because he was homeschooled. An assistant coach later resigned, citing the way my son was treated as one of the reasons.)

I'm pretty sure my dream was a reflection of how I felt and still feel like an outsider in my community. Thanks for stopping by, TF!
