Short poem about the trap of sin

Post by sonoftheKing on Thu Feb 24, 2011 12:59 pm

This is a poem about sin. It is not about a specific sin nor does it reflect anything that I am currently dealing with. This is really about some lessons that i had to learn as a young man especially in high school and shortly after. I play on adjectives to describe the way that I saw sin as I was being exposed to it.

Brilliant, sexy, easy
She makes her assets known
no walls nor difficulty exists
I stare in excitement and in anticipation
Her will I want not to resist

tunnel vision, full speed ahead
I leap with vigor
my flesh hath felt no pleasure
I bite into her and indoing my soul commits
But suddenly I am confounded

Blackness, cold, and void
fear invades my being
it freezes my agenda still
my mind is quickly polluted
as my will she devours with skill

Frantic, busy, anxious
I flee with my eyes fixed ahead
I dare not look back and confirm her pain
alas her poison weakens instead
and pride assembles its liberal gray

crafty, cunning, clever
this is no haven but it will do
atleast the woves teeth feel far removed
and as I know the gap is short
I already call into question the truth

grateful, happy, relieved
so many times she hath been with me
no serious loss i can recall
and as the glorious dawn breaks
I romanticize them all

renewed, content, SELF ASSURED
I air a sigh
it is there I find myself tucked inside
the ground rumbles and hell saturates
indeed i am caught in her lies

fooled, played, outsmarted
it is in this place of pain
that i realize the truth
her teeth hath been clamped around me
from the moment her chains i hath loosed

clapping

I'm taking introduction to literature right now and that was better than any of the stuff in the text book!

I'm a lousy example of a Christian but a PERFECT example of God's Grace.

Thank you so much that makes me feel good. I have not wrote in years, but I must say it feels good to get the creative juices flowing again.
