I am studying the bible for examples of how Jesus and the disciples did EVERYTHING. I'm tired of being less than 100% effectual so I've decided on a fool proof doctrine, namely: Do What They Did.

Getting closer to God principle for the day: The bible is like a teleporter into the Spirit realm (where God is). Whenever I truly immerse myself in a study, it never fails to bring me into God's presence.

I'm a lousy example of a Christian but a PERFECT example of God's Grace.

Yes, the pure Word--that's what we need. How many times have you heard, for example, that God will never give us more than we can handle? Take a look at 2 Corinthians 1:8:
"For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia; that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life."
This is the Apostle Paul talking! He goes on to say the experience taught him to trust in God, not himself.
In Psalms it says the entirety of the Word is truth. This makes sense because Jesus is the Word and He is Truth personified.
Reading the Word and not relying on what we think it says, or what other people think it says, is the key to life!

lol!

I love it!

So I guess today my mission statement is out with the old (lame doctrines) and in with the new (nothing but PURE GOSPEL!)

The Lord put in my heart that some people love their doctrines SO MUCH they will be offended by the thought that the bible disagrees with their doctines and they might be so offended as to leave fellowshipping with me, but it is a good thing because we should not compromise the truth to have a larger group of friends! Compromising the Truth to please everyone is one surefire way to water down your spiritual power/growth so we are better off letting our light shine the Truth and let some people fall away rather than keep a bunch of people with us who dilute our effectiveness.

Let Jesus never say of us as He did the Pharisees in Matt 15:9:
"In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."
