Master's degree, confronting a priest, restaurant

Post by Deborah on Tue Dec 21, 2010 7:59 am

I had a three-part dream last night:

First part:
I walked into a library and I was talking to someone. Somebody hushed me because a group of older women were taking a test. One of the ladies I recognized from real life; she is a retired teacher. Somehow I knew they were taking a test to get their master's degree in German and it consisted of three parts:

1. a 9-hour written test,
2. each test taker had to drive in a German city (Munich came to mind),
3. each test taker had to take German public transportation with an animal or small child and go to a designated place.

I remember thinking in my dream the last two requirements were a little ludicrous because they wouldn't prove one's fluency in German.

Second part:
I was taking a bath with a (perhaps my) infant boy. I heard a man come into the house who in real life is a Catholic priest who was very cruel to me once. I heard him talking to someone and I got very angry. I stepped out of the tub, wrapped a towel around the baby and then wrapped a towel around myself and then realized our clothes were in the room where that priest was.

When I walked into the room, the priest was ignoring me, but I couldn't ignore what he was saying because I didn't think it was biblically correct. I pointed to him and challenged him directly. He just acted like I was a crazy woman. Scripture kept pouring out of my mouth.

Third part:
The only thing a remember about the third part was it involved a restaurant.

I would like to ask a question.

What did you do in the library? just talking to someone?

Owen, I don't remember doing anything at the library. I was embarassed about being hushed, I worked as a librarian myself a few times and that used to be my job!

Dreamster, in real life a priest came to my home once and told me in a really mean way I couldn't take communion in his church anymore since I had married a non-Catholic. I was pregnant at the time, now that I think about it, and that priest still treats me like pond scum. I am no longer a Catholic.

Thanks for your responses, guys!

Yes I was. I was a little weak from morning sickness and my husband wasn't at all happy I was pregnant, so yes, very vulnerable.

It's like the first part I was talking when I should have been quiet like I am in real life when I go to libraries, in the second part in real life I was silent when I should have confronted the priest like I did in my dream.

the library represents knowledge. being inside the library could mean gaining knowledge or increasing knowledge.

I believe your dream means you can discern how people respond to their trials that correspond to what they know or percieve about the problem or what they are going through if it wise or unwise.

the second part, i think, you may encounter a situation in your life that you need to deal with religious spirit(the priest) to challenge your faith in God. It is a confrontation between true faith and false faith.

I hope this has helped you.

Blessings!

Dreamster, I think you're right about the healing--that priest wounded me deeply, and even though I look back on what happened and I'm glad it did because it made me fall on my face and seek Jesus, there was still a wound inflicted. In the dream I was very, very bold.

Owen, I have to fight the religious spirit almost every day where I live. I do think I'm getting stronger and stronger, but at times I face a hatred from certain persons that is very strong. (And yes, I know we battle not against flesh and blood...)I made the comment to a friend of mine that people here either love me or hate me, there's no middle ground.

I love that book. Pilgrim's Progress and the Bible were two books many of the people who settled in the western half of the United States brought with them in their tight-for-space covered wagons in the 1800s and I can see why....
