Bear and a Dog

Post by cmhooker on Sat Dec 11, 2010 9:26 am

I was in my old bedroom in my parent's house. I was looking out the window, but the window was different. It was a floor to ceiling window where I could see almost completely out into the back yard. My bed was perpendicular to the adjacent wall from the window on the left side. I was sitting on the end of it looking out the window. It was the bed I grew up sleeping in. There is a tree outside the window, and our basement is directly under my bedroom with the main floor in between. I saw an animal rush from the back yard into the basement. I can't remember what it was, but I was impressed by it. Seems like it was something large and powerful and impressive -- like a lion, but I'm not sure.

After this came a bear, the kind that one finds in the Appalachian mountains, a black bear. It came and stood under the tree. I was relieved it was a black bear and not a grizzly or some such, no large claws. It had a little dog in its paws. I was intently watching, hoping it wouldn't hurt the dog. It actually didn't. It let the dog go, but its little joints were contorted for a minute before it was ok. Then the bear started coming toward me. I was afraid but not terrified. I felt like I shouldn't be afraid, but I was afraid anyway. The bear walked straight through the window as if the window were made of air and came up to my bed. Then I woke up.

This is new for me having dreams like this. I used to dream about once or twice a year that I could remember. Now I am having dreams every week. I keep sensing that they have special meaning, but the Lord usually doesn't speak to me this way, so it's interesting.

The black bear is something that you should pray about. Do you attend a church?

I would ask for prayer regarding this. I believe it's a dream that is meant for intercession. I don't like the black bear.

I'm hoping that the small dog is a situation that looks terrible but ends up not turning out the way it appears it will. I believe this will be the result of prayer.

Was the dog in it's mouth a small dog or a puppy?

I prayed through the dream last night. I think I know where you're going with this, black animals = death, etc. I broke off curses and soul ties with ancestors last night. My great grandfather was murdered by my great-grand-step father. Messy business. Anyway, I've done a lot of soul work already, but the Lord seems to be pinpointing soul ties lately. Anyway, after I prayed through this, I definitely felt something break, lift, etc.

In the dream I didn't feel very worried about the whole thing. It was the feeling that one gets when coming in proximity to a big dog on a leash. You are a little scared but you tell yourself not to be, because you are really safe. That is how I feel/felt during the dream and now. To answer your question, the dog was a small dog, not a puppy. It was cute and fluffy, like a terrier or something.

Also, I got prayer at church this morning. I forgot to ask about the dream, but I think it would have come up if it needed to. The lady who prayed for me is reasonably prophetic.

I don't believe this is curses and soul ties. I believe it is about a tangible, upcoming situation.

In any event, I believe it will turn out for the best but as a result of prayer. So, I recommend that if/when this dream comes to your mind you just take the opportunity to ask God to take care of the situation and thank Him. I believe that when we remember dreams it is the Holy Spirit bringing them to our memory for a purpose and the purpose is usually prayer.

When this dream manifests please report back.

Love,

Mia

Thank you for the insight. I will definitely keep it in prayer as the Holy Spirit brings it up. I just prayed Ps. 91 over my family's and my future, and I definitely felt some shifting.

I still feel the inclination that it's something that looks dangerous but really isn't. However, as you said, this dream may be the Lord's way of helping me see that I need to take part in making that happen through prayer, and I definitely take that seriously. Plus, usually what the Holy Spirit is saying to me + what he's saying to other believers (you +) is where the life-giving answer pops up.

Anyway, everyone will definitely hear back when I get a manifestation. :)Thank you for taking the time to hear from the Holy Spirit for me. That is not received lightly.

Love,
Zia

I hope you are right about it looking dangerous and really isn't.

I'm not trying to be an alarmist. I'm just stressing prayer because I've never seen a black animal be something to take lightly and I believe that a large reason for dreams is to promote prayer over these situations.

The reason I say pray even though the Lord has spoken is that the Lord told Elijah what He was going to do to bring on the rain but Elijah prayed that the Lord's will be done. Even though God spoke it, prayer was still incorporated. So LORD we pray that your will be done!

Love,

I'm in agreement with your prayers toward the Lord's will, and I definitely see your point in agreeing with the Lord's will through prayer. His will is not always carried out in the earth. Often we must know it and then open the door to it through prayer. :-)

I think you and others have more experience with dreams than I. This is why I joined the forum, and I don't think you are being an alarmist at all. I have plenty of experience with the Lord, but I understand that dreams are new territory for me. Conversely, I also understand that I tend to be the exception to the rule in my walk, for some reason, and in this season the Lord is helping me be ok with that as well. Talk about a convoluted process!

Once again, thank you! And I will keep this in prayer for sure, praying the Lord's will and protection.

Love,
Zia
