Seeking God's Divine Will For Your Life...

Recommended Posts

The longer that I live the more I recognise how much better it is to seek God's divine will for our lives, even in some of the small things. I was talking with my sister in Michigan recently and we both had some decisions to make in our life. In her life she was troubled by too much responsibility at work, too many hours and ill health from what she was going through day after day and year after year. On the other side of the coin however, she had a job. finding the right balance is challenging and none of us want to make a choice that will bring more harm than good.

With me I was struggling with the decision on what percentage to keep on the sales of my new book and what part to give to others. I'd already decide to donate 20% to others in need, and for the month of November, all of the donations were going to help a local drug and alcohol rehab center in our little town, but I just wasn't feeling a peace about it all. So my sister and I prayed together for God's divine will in our lives regarding these choices. Within two weeks God spoke to my heart and then sent a friend to confirm His answer to me. For now i was to donate all of the profit to The Bondage Breaker Minstries, The Fountain Gate Burn Foundation and others as God would lead me. I felt a solid sense that this would be for a solid year and to be revisited at a later time, and I was good with that. Now here, much later I can see more clearly, why.

I wondered why God made this choice but it wasnt too long before I started to understand. I belong to a community chat group online, and for two days I had an ongoing discussion with an angry athiest young man debating Christ with me. All the time, even though his mouth was saying it all in a mean way, I knew his heart was crying out to believe and know the true God. I kept praying that God would keep me and fill me and give me supernatural and spirit led answers for all of his questions and arguments and God did. Finally in a last ditch desperate attempt to find fault with me as an ambassador for Chirist, the young man accused me. "You are just trying to take advantage a get rich off the poor, by selling a fake book about a God that doesnt exist"....is what he said, and in that moment I was so so happy, that I could say in peace, "God gave me this book to share with others and all of the donations are going to help others in the Fountain Gate Burn Foundation and the Bondage Breaker Rehab".

Isn't God Awesome!!!!!

:glory: :hallelujah:
I have a friend who is also an atheist and I don't know how to respond to him.
I am encouraged that God led you to post about that... I will be more persistent in getting answers from YWHW.

I was truly challenged to witness to this young man, he said things to instigate anger in me...and without the power of the Holy Spirit it would have been futile. Each time God encouraged me to rest be humble and consider the whole picture. I had to be in the Spirit and not the flesh. In the end it is love that reaches out to the lost, really. My lifetime role model, my Christ, who on the cross. said forgive them for they know not what they do. That is the picture that I keep in my mind. I also beleive in some ways, it is easier and more effective to communicate with an an athiest than a peron who is proud to be a Christian, but is not really a Christian...If you know what I mean.

I do know what you mean...

I am at a point where He has started really working on me making me aware of my reactions before I react.

It takes more faith to believe that this world and the heavens are an "accident" truly. I believe it is the love. Agape that is the biggest talker to the unbeliever, really. The athiest, agnostic, unbeliever, they watch us closer than any believer....they watch to confirm that we are not real and we have ill motives and that we are full of crapola....so to speak. I so want to stay focused on walking in His light..I love Mias saying that ticker tapes across her posts....it reminds me to keep pointing to God and keep tellling others I am sorry for my falling short...because God is not finished with me yet....lol.

Aha! Take that Satan! (I just felt the need to say that)

That's a good thought! This is my saying: We are like jewels. During our lives, we are taken out of the darkness of the caves and we are carved and cut (and whatever else needs to be done). Were not perfect til God's done perfecting us. Then we look like this:

The athiest, agnostic, unbeliever, they watch us closer than any believer....they watch to confirm that we are not real and we have ill motives and that we are full of crapola....

So true and you know what's funny? I've heard of the "Demolition of Christianity" (in art and stuff like that) but never any big insulting thing against buddhists, muslims, hindus, wiccans, satanists, or anything like that (sure people are trying to disprove God but that includes almost everyone. It's a kinda of an impersonal attack, they might not be alluding totally to us.).

yes you've got a point there...and I also love the treasure chest that you downloaded...I think when we get to heaven we will all be walking around with our mouths open....no matter how much we read about heaven....I believe words are just not enough for us to "get it" and thats ok. I am glad that we have heaven to look forward too and to motivate us to bring others with us!!!

Jasmine, I love your posting and analogy too. It reminded me of some dreams I've had that had me puzzled. I think I've gotten the interpretation!

If it's alright, I'm going to quote you and put with my dream.

Regarding wanting Gods divine will for our lives....what is our true destiny while we walk this earth in this lifetime? My husband and I have been struggling with this, after fifteen years of marriage in the same home and in the same town...now we are sensing that God has more for us to do than to raise our children (all 8 are married and or moved on in their own independent lives)....

God called me to write and publish the book "Its A God Thing...MY SHEEP WILL HEAR MY VOICE. And now we believe God has something else around the corner, we may be moving, touring speaking and spreading the Gospel through whatever way Christ leads...

We never thought we'd do this, the truth is that we are both not comfortable thinking of leaving our nest and following Christ wherever He leads.....but in this discomfort, is our longing heart. My prayer is not my will Father, but THY will. Pray for us please...we may not have to say good bye to our home, our town and our comfort zone, but If God wants us to, I want to embrace it with all of my heart.
