When I dreamt of brown it was "grounded", "down-to-earth" so to speak. I think it would matter on the context of your dreams. I always refer to biblical colors in the word of God. I know that when people would mourn they would shave off their heads, sit in sackcloth (brown) and put ashes on their heads (gray/black): this showed a sign of humility, receiving mercy, mourning, trouble, disgrace, etc (Isaiah 3; psalm 102; Isaiah 58:5; Jeremiah 6:26)

Brown can mean a lot of things... i like what Desiree said about humility..it can also stand for friendship (it has in my dreams anyway) or filth...It really depends also on the feelings associated with the color.

I don't remember dreaming in brown but, found a couple of sites on Christian symbols:

Brown (or Tan): Green life turns this color (withers) when dead; born again; without spirit; repentance or turning from dead works. (1 Peter 1: 24; Ps. 37: 2)

Brown colors symbolize the earth, poverty and humility.

Re: The color brown

Thanks, Dreamster. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for: a list of possible meanings for the color brown. The compassion rings most true for the scenario in the dream that I had. I am not sure that that's exactly it, but it makes the most sense and rings truest, FOR THIS DREAM. I've had other dreams where the brown means something different and having a list/string like this will help jog my brain in the future. Thanks for your input!

I just had a dream this morning and in part of the dream this couple was taking a brown recliner with them for a weekend away. I thought that to be a bit odd and this is a couple that does not want to change. I am thinking maybe it represents the flesh or man.Humm
