Back in high school

Post by Deborah on Fri Oct 29, 2010 10:09 am

I've had several dreams over the years of being back in high school. Usually in the dreams I'm finding out I need to go back because I haven't finished a class and my diploma isn't valid. I'm always puzzled in the dream because I have a college degree, so why would I have to go back to high school? Irl I was a substitute high school teacher for awhile, and caught many kids cheating on the tests I gave them....

So in my dream in the other night, I'm back in high school. I'm getting ready to take a big test. I walk up to the teacher's desk, grab a pencil and a test booklet. The person behind the desk tells me to put both items down and this time pick up the test booklet and THEN the pencil. I'm aggravated, but I comply.

So I sit down in a designated seat and open the test booklet. Again I'm aggravated; interspersed in the test are magazine-type advertisements! I feel like getting on a soapbox about advertisers taking advantage of every opportunity for commercial gain. I look through the test and am pretty confident I know most of the answers. I see people who were my actual classmates in high school. I move and sit near one, he moves away from me because test takers aren't supposed to sit next to one another.

My feelings during this dream were mostly of frustration. I thought the rules were really stupid. I didn't like high school in real life, I like it even less in my dreams. Maybe if someone can tell me why I keep deaming about high school, I'll quit having these dreams. Thanks!

Just my thoughts:

High school can represent a group of people who are learning - like at this site... lol!

Interpreting dreams sometimes feel like a test because you wait to find out if your answers are correct.

If you've been aggravated with the ads on the site it would fit perfectly. (BTW, the adds are placed there by forumtion because they provide this site for free.)

The confirming key is if the ads irritate you?

Is there somewhere else that you are a member that the rules irritate you? Maybe at church?

I'm just an all-around anti-status quo kind of person--it's not that I don't appreciate structure, just rules that don't make sense--I chafe at things in church like legalism. I homeschooled my son 12 years in an anti-homeschooling community.

Mia! I was drifting off to sleep and then it hit me! It's not the ads but the private message I got from Merling! I had this dream 24 hours before his/her solicitation! So I was flipping through the pages (posts), came across the irritating ads (the scam pm) but the best part was, I was pretty confident I knew the answers (the interpretation).

So, Principal Mia, do I get an A or at least a gold star?

Drifting off to sleep for me is the most opportune time for me to get visions, epiphanies, whatever.

Can u pretend this is a star? Flower Power

I wrote earlier: "I see people who were my actual classmates in high school. I move and sit near one, he moves away from me because test takers aren't supposed to sit next to one another."

This is a picture of an online community--none of us are sitting next to each other, often we're a half world apart.
