bear and parents' invalidation

Post by Deborah on Tue Oct 26, 2010 10:31 am

When I was a little girl, I had a recurring dream about a big black bear that would chase me. I felt extreme fear and would wake up trembling. In one dream I remember the bear chased me into my dad's shop. My dad had an electrical tool in his shop (irl) that had sharp metal spikes on it that would go around and around; he used it to sharpen blades of other tools on it and it would make sparks. Well anyway, the bear put my long blond hair in that. I was so, so frightened. Somehow I got away and ran down the hill to where my parents' house was. I told my parents about the bear and how he tried to harm me, and they didn't seem upset at all, like they didn't believe me. Dad was reading his newspaper in his big chair and didn't even look up when I told the story, and Mom just smiled at me. I've always loved animals so I thought it strange I would fear one in my dreams.

The only time that I dreamed about a black bear was a prophetic dream about my pastor who had a miscarriage.

The only time that I had a dream about a black bear that was last year - one was in a co-worker's kitchen under her sink...shortly after that she developed an infection that entered her spine - it was so debilitating she could hardly walk and had to go out on short term disability... bandaid

Ahh so a black bear seems like a very negative thing! I certainly feared it in my dreams, feared even going to sleep....

Did you ever have a close call or anything when you were young?

I fell off a horse when I was 2 years old, almost permanently lost my hearing when I was about 6, I grew up with 5 older brothers, a demon came at me with red eyes in my dark bedroom when I was pretty little....not sure what pertains here? A few months ago an older sister of mine showed me entries in her journal when I was 3 years old---I was talking then about fighting "really mean witches that live in the ground."

I'mbwondering if around the time you had this dream, if something happened to you. I was thinking something with your head? What caused your hearing loss?

Incompetent general practitioners did not prescribe adequate dosages of antibiotics and my ear infection got out of hand when I was 6 years old. By the time my parents brought me to an ear specialist, I was within two weeks, the doctor said, of permanently losing my hearing.

Now that I think about it, my dad was in denial about the hearing loss I had while the infections were in my ears, but my mom wasn't.....I've always felt this particular attack tried to abort the gift of music God has given me.

I would say that this is the interpretation to your dream.

Thanks, Mia and Lola! I didn't realize until just now how when I said the attack of the infections tried to abort God's gifting in me how that ties in to what you said, Mia, about miscarriage, and what you said, Lola, about infection! Wow! wow big hug 2

Ok..... soapbox

This is a perfect example of why I say, Don't tell us the text book definitions of symbols. If you are going to give symbol definitions, offer examples of symbols used in your dreams that manifested in real life because those have value. Those God has used in your life are divine. Those somebody wrote up might not be.
