Partner & Bayonet

Post by Paul RT on Mon Oct 25, 2010 1:17 pm

I was looking for a squash partner in Parramatta (western Sydney) and travelled there to find a squash court. When I arrived there I saw some brochures advertising a match making service. I was then sitting at a table with two women and another man and we were meeting for the first time. I was feeling guilty because I was conscious that I was already married.
The next part of the dream I had applied to join the army. I met this military officer with a huge bayonet on the end of his rifle that had mean looking curves and lines carved into the blade.

two words came to my mind Compromise and Spiritual Warefare. I believe your dream is kind of a warning in the future, to avoid compromise(not necessarily in relationship), and to be prepared in the spiritual battle.

I hope this helps. Bless you!

Thanks for the heads up Owen. I've encountered a few battles lately at work and at church, testing my emotional strength and ethics!

I hope this officer was not an enemy but the bayonett was unfriendly to you. Kind of a sword of the spirit, that would piece your soul, to restrain you.

Its a warning.

I don't think the military officer was an enemy. I think he was more representing strength and courage. These are the qualities I've been required to demonstrate as I've faced opposition and anger in my workplace and church over the past month or so.

Could this be about finding another job?

Hi Mia
In the past I would have jumped ship readily, and could change jobs easily. My wife has been telling me for years that I will keep encountering the same problems with each new job anyway.
This year, however, I believe the Lord is teaching me to have more courage and endurance.
I saw the movie Chronicles of Narnia:Voyage of the Dawn Treader for the second time today. Through it the Lord has been speaking strongly to me about not giving in to my fears and trusting Him more.

The guilt part in the dream made me think that you might have felt that way because you were considering changing careers. The applying part also led me to think that way. Not necessarily because you do but because you seemed at the point to be in a place where you were open to it.
