Shoes or Feet?

Post by Gissy2 on Sun Oct 17, 2010 9:32 am

I dreamt I was running in an abandon building with a young boy (maybe 14), two older guys (maybe 40s). The young boy was in the lead, I was doing well following him, then we went up some steep paths and my feet got stuck in narrow paths. The young boy went on with ease but myself and one of the older guys were stuck. This unknown man starting talking to us, he was mostly talking to the older guy, anyhow somehow I left them and went off to another path which had groups and groups of people running like a large marathon in the abandon building. Somehow this lady in the front of me ran passed this entry way and loss all functions of her legs. The group of people called for the older guy I was with for help. I decided to leave when I walked out of the building I was barefeet! This is the part of the dream I was wondering about because I do not like walking around without shoes. In the dream, this voice was telling me "you forgot your shoes" and I was like I didn't need them but the voice was encouraging me to go back for them because they were new shoes. And I was like, I am not going back and I decided to walk barefeet. What is the symbol of being barefoot? I usually dream literal but I seriously doubt I am going to be walking around without shoes!

When I read your post, this verse from Ephesians 6 came to mind:

And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace.

For your discernment.
Blessings.

If u don't have an amplified bible and still would like to check every now and again, u can always go to biblegateway.com and click on the version u'd like to read it in..

Could this be about a relationship? Shoes often represent two of something that belong together.

hi Mia, I never thought of that but if you mean a guy and girl relationship, I doubt it because I am not in one. I was interested in someone but that didn't work out.

The barefeet represent something not working out if you had the shoes on that would mean the matched pair were together where they should be.

now that I think about it, you might be right to be focusing on the shoes b/c the voice said the shoes was "new" and I got an image of my new tennis shoes I purchased in real life, these tennis shoes are white with no logos and I remember in the dream I was kinda feeling sad leaving them behind but for some reason I felt I didn't need them.

Like the relationship that didn't work out. If the shoes represented the relationship, then not wearing the shoes represents there not being a relationship but whatever it is you have to look at your feelings in the dream. The real life situation will mirror those feelings. Is that how you felt when you quit the relationship? Or is there some other thing that you felt that way about? If neither apply, this is yet to come.

Well, it wasn't a relationship just an interest which has turn out not to be the best thing for me. IRL I am sad and disappointed. In the dream I was sad I had to leave the shoes but I rather walk around barefeet and uncomfortable then to turn back for those shoes. And God knows this, so I guess the voice was testing my heart in the dream. You are right, the dream does mirror my real life. Thanks Mia, I was on a completely different path but I think you are right. This dream is just showing what my heart decided in real life!

Potential relationship still applies. Anything that could be applied to a mate - potential, past, future, etc.

For example: You and another person = matched pair.

Potential person that didn't work out would be shoes you didn't want to wear.

If you and the other person were not a matched pair your feet are still bare.

oh my goodness, yesterday, I wore the shoes in the dream as I put them on I remembered my dream, anyway this morning my right foot is very sore from the shoes. This afternoon my foot is still sore, I walked past the shoes and I said to myself I am not putting those shoes on again!!!! It was just an after thought not meaning anything. I then remembered my dream and how the lady in front of me "loss function of her legs". This dream seem to have been more literal than I thought. Which never cease to amaze me everytime I think it is symbolic it turns out to be prophetic or happens in IRL!!!!

Mia, I thought about this again and I was wondering...what about the voice encouraging me to go back for the shoes because they were new...could this be something to come or a new interest? A "twist" in the story?
