Introduction

Post by Mia on Mon Aug 18, 2008 4:03 pm

Hey Y'all!

I am writing a blog for people like me who want to learn what they can about the prophetic. I struggled for a few years trying to grow in the things of the prophetic without much mentoring and as a result of my lack, I've looked for ways to help others who are experiencing the same lack of mentoring. Which is why I decided to post my experiences here as a way for those in the same situation to learn about it through examples of firsthand experiences. I believe that reading about experiences is one of the best ways of learning, at least it is for me. Therefore, I pray this blog is a blessing and a benefit to anyone seeking to grow in the things of the Spirit.

Love,

Mia

Mia,

There have been times that I felt I had the gift of the prophetic but then again I am not sure. I have many dreams and have had many visions. I have on occasion spoke a prophetic word but that does not necessarily mean I have the gift or does it? I just know that I love God and gratefully accept all He gives me. Even when I don't always understand it.

I have always just taken what God has given me and recorded it and prayed on it, but I didn't really know what else to do. The old church I came from did not really teach on the gifts much. By that I mean we never practiced the gifts or discussed how to use them. That to me was sad especially since I am a Minister and went through the training for all of that. I spent 10 years trying to figure it out. The Lord sent me here. I so want to know more but have no idea where to begin outside of reading Gods word.

Thanks,

Connie :kitty:

Re: Introduction

Connie,

I was in the same identical situation. No teaching, no mentoring and fumbling through it on my own.

These are some things I have learned by the seat of my pants......

I had a little bit of prophetic stuff going on....most of it so quiet and gentle I would have missed it if I wasn't LOOKING for it. Having dreams that foretold the future alerted me to the fact that I had more than the regular outpouring of prophecy THAT ANY CHRISTIAN can operate in. SO, I looked SERIOUSLY LOOKED for the rest of what went along with that. I was SO FAITHFUL in the little bit that I had God continuously added more because I have been faithful in the little bit I was given.

God's DESIRE is that WE ALL prophesy and..........

We prophesy according to our faith. There are times, especially in the beginning that you are not sure if the thougths inside of you are your's or if they are God's. That was the hardest part right there. Figuring that part out. But, I was faithful to learn and God was faithful to teach. He says, He who honors me I will honor..........

The thing that released me to receive THE MOST from God was realizing that He wanted me to prophesy and praying that He would give me the prophetic utterances that He wanted spoken to His people. He is more than willing we just have to receive it by faith.

Lastly, the bible does not say that we are limited to the gifts we have. At any point we can ask and believe for more. He who is faithful in the little WILL BE GIVEN much. I believe if we ask and are faithful we will receive. God is glorified by the things that we believe Him for. He is LOOKING for people who can believe Him for the supernatural because when He operates through someone in the supernatural and people see it, it increases their faith. When their faith is increased He can do more for them. GOD being glorified is a benefit for His people. Faith spreads like wildfire when God is allowed to work because faith is present.

Pray, expect, believe and receive for the Glory of God to benefit His people!

AMEN!~

Love,

Mia

Mia,

Well yes but very differently from a Pentecostal Church. They do it behind the scene. They believe in it but don't do it publicly. I am in a Baptist Church. I have been to many churches that won't even discuss the workings of the Holy Spirit. They believe but are a new church and are still learning themselves in this area. So I guess we are all learning.

God Bless,

I was taught in a Pentecostal Church and believe in every work of the Holy Spirit. My Theology is in Pentecostal Theology. I believe in open worship and clapping and giving the Lord awesome praise. I believe in every gift of the Holy Spirit given to us by His good pleasure. But our church is very conservative. Although our Pastor is very grounded in the Holy Spirit he is still trying to get his arms around open worship. Hope that helps for understanding how it is at our church.

God Bless,

Well, Connie, it will be more of a challenge for you to grow in prophetic things if you cannot exercise your gift at the Holy Spirit's liberty and if you have no other person gifted in the spirit confirming things that you are hearing to help you learn more quickly when God is giving you a prophetic word.

See, my pastor and I hear almost the same identical things which really helps fine tune the prophetic ear. If you don't have that kind of confirmation it certainly is more of a challenge.

But maybe by reading my journal you can pick up some things and I'm sure the Holy Spirit will just work around your limitations anyway. I'm going to do a post about the manifestations of prophecy and you might just find that you can prophesy without anyone realizing it's "prophecy". They will just say, What awesome confirmation or What timing! I really needed that. Or other similar things that don't really give credit to God for speaking but that testify that they were blessed.

Love,

Mia

Mia,

God told me through a friend about my gifting in the prophetic. At least I believe it to be prophetic. I will be going to a deliverance meeting this weekend and this is where I believe God will use me. In that ministry to set the captives free.

Thanks and God bless

Hey guys, for me it's just as frustrating 'cause I'm in kinda the same situation. I love going to a more lifely church, but my husband thinks it's all weired. I'm also new in the prophetic, I dream a lot and lately supernatural stuff started happening. We are actually in a church which don't even believe or practice the gifts! This is so sad to me. My husband doesn't even want to go to church. He has gone to church with me only about twice but because I think he felt he MUST, not because he wanted to.

So, I'm also frustrated 'cause I just want to be in the presence of the Lord all the time, don't even want to be at work some times, 'cause I just want to spent time with God. I feel so empty sometimes 'cause I know if my husband just wanted to serve the Lord with me I would have grown much more than I have in the Lord. But I must say I have asked God to be my teacher because I'm restricted. He is so faithfull. And I thank God for internet sites like this 'cause it's a real blessing!

I'm still praying for my hubby (been praying for nearly 5 years now). Sometimes it's not that easy, but I hold onto God's promises. This is why I've put a picture of me and my husband as my AVATAR, because even if he doesn't know it he is part of this. lol!

Blessings

Sirianta,

I understand about your husband. My husband came from a Buddist background and it was very hard for him to get his arms around open worship and the Holy Spirit. I prayed for him for 7 years to get past the old relegion and get hooked up with the Holy Spirit. Guess what he is on fire for God and is totally immersed in the Holy Spirit. God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Hang in there my friend. God will answer your prayer.

Love in Christ,

Connie

A TESTIMONY TO WHAT GOD CAN DO!!! (thanks Dove Solutions!!) we have to be like the woman with the unjust judge (I keep saying this over and over again!) she kept asking every day nonstop until the judge got tired of her and granted her her desire/vidication out of frustration! If the unrighteous judge who cared nothing about God or man gave the widow her desire because of her persistence, how much more will our loving teacher, friend, etc dear GOD bring us what we desire when we "instantly ask"??? HALELULIA!! Keep asking, keep knocking, and keep being persistent because God hears the prayers of the righteous and he desires to do good to us!!! YALL HAVE BLESSED ME TODAY!

Mia,
STARVING soul here. I have been praying for a mentor. You may not be the answer, but I would probably devour your blog. Technologically challenged that I am, though, how do I get to your postings/journaling???
