grasshoppers and the ants

Im sure people know the old story of the ants who stored, packed and prepared and the grasshopper who played the fiddle (In my version) dances, sang and had a party during the Harvest time. In the old version when winter comes he dies...sigh The newer kid versions say the ants let him in then he plays for them all winter and they feed him till spring. What they DONT say is did he learn his lesson!

My husband and family and of course I am constantly preparing - we were both shown a real need would be coming - a time of trouble for Christians who dont prepare. We were shown this years ago. We both were miraculously given provision and invested in school and prepare for growing food in our little yard and doing simple things to invest. In the dream we were told Christians would think we were materialistic and greedy cause we were storing and not going out and having a good time eating out, watching movies and doing all the activities they were in. This has come to pass.

All this time we kept wondering if this was JUST somthing we were doing. As I read in here I see God spoke to many people about these kinds of things and warned people early on so they would prepare for sheltering others when troubles come.

I know Im just writing this out but I would like to learn more from the other postings and just wanted to share what we have heard of God.
We are specifically collecting seeds...clean, non gmo, organic types for gardens and food. Especially where we live the containers bring food and many forget how to grow things themselves. What happens when troubles stop the delivery of the ships...what happens when the droughts and hard times hit...we dont want to forget how to grow and store and live within our means.

I tried sharing to people in my church but from the Pastoral staff to the other regular attenders they think we are kinda overkill, too strong, overwhelming and basicly have little faith cause why worry when God is gonna take care of it all...

The sad part is they live like the grasshoppers and I am begining to see the troubles hit them harder and harder - many join the reserves and military to just make ends meet but are not learning the lesson. Sorry to vent alittle in here - not sure why God has warned us what will happen and no matter how much we pray and talk to people and share it seems they are determined to go the harder way. Why cant I just hear good stuff like flowers and poams and songs....sigh

Im crying so much inside for them...What else can I do?

Just keep praying for God will guide you. I have felt that I must prepare also and have been praying for a place of my own to do just that and God will provide me with just that.. Remember Joseph and how God took him to Egypt for that purpose. Trust what God has told you to do. I know it is hard when others seem to be like the grasshopper but God's Word and His promises always come true and that is for America as well. My prayers are with you. God Bless you..

I was warned also in a dream that I was hiding cans of food so it wouldn't be stolen by another country that was destroing everything. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing enough (I have 5 kids) and lots of friends who don't believe in hording so to speak. But I also am reminded of Joseph saving in times of good for the coming famine. The word of God shows that a famine is coming over all the world and that a quart of wheat would cost a days wage. I would think that everyone reading the word of God would be doing this.

This is interesting!! I'm all for saving and putting away because that's wisdom. We are NOT to be living friviously, but this is also a time where we are going to see God's provision in the midst of the famine. There are people who were not warned, such as myself, who will be taken care of even though I haven't had enough to store away because I need it to eat now. I don't have much to save...I literally tithe and not have anything left over, but I trust God and He has come through for me...probably not as much as I would like, but my rent is paid, my son is taken care of and my medical expenses for giving birth in August will be taken care of. I couldn't ask for anything more.

The Lord also shared this with me. I found myself going over the canned goods again. I even taught myself more canning skills, and have really been hoarding seeds. I am freezing them. It does sound overzealous, but when the Lord speaks, I listen. BTW, the drought that was supposed to hit Texas-still going.

Since you are tithing and trusting God, you have nothing to fear. You are exactly right; God will take care of you.

As for me, I feel He has told me to store up water and canned goods, and I am doing that. (I think it's just as important to store water as it is to store food.)

I think that both our water supplies and our electrical supply will be disrupted -- perhaps for a very long period of time.

But God has also shown me lately that I must be ready to share the food and water with those around me. If I do this, I believe that He will multiply it as He multiplied the loaves and fishes.

Yes, I am storing up food and water. But my faith is not in the food and water. It is in God.

No believer who is walking in His will will perish until and unless God is ready to him or her to come home.

The key is to fully trust Him, fully obey Him and be in the center of His will. Now is the time to invite Him to search us for sin and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
