DAPH!!
What an awesome message! It really did speak to my whole man!!lol...I believe the following with my whole heart: "Marriage is a ministry". Who's not to say that who God gives us as our spouse aren't people that God doesn't want us to minister to when we marry them?! AS you mentioned, noone is perfect (so we can't look for our husbands or our wives to be "squeaky clean")! I've always said this, and I'll say it again: ITS ABOUT THE HEART. Only God knows whats' in the heart and God will reveal a person's heart to you. People can change but its up to them and our support as their spouses to make sure that change takes place. I like the following things you said:
I am SO glad that God doesn't throw us away. He is so full of mercy and compassion that He sees not where we are currently, but what we will become down the road (he knows our potential!!)
As the scripture says, "a righteous man falleth seven times" What's the difference between the righteous and the wicked? They have a heart for God (desires to do the right thing and the will of God) and the wicked care nothing about doing the right things towards God and man! A righteous man doesn't "practice sin" but he/she makes mistakes but continues to believe in God to help mold them and shape them into mighty women/men of God!!! THANK GOD THAT HE WORKS ON OUR CHARACTERS! AS husbands and wives we must show mercy to eachother and love one another as ourselves--this is what God truly wants of us! God has drawn us by his love--he loved us before we even knew him!! PRAISE GOD FOR BEING OUR EXAMPLE! I think sometimes we can be so "nitpicky" at imperfections that we instantly think: "he/she can't be the one because they do this or that." I think ultimately it all depends on whether or not we can handle what that person does/doesn't do. If that person is "the one" God will equip us with the necessary tools to be able to handle and help him/her be everything God desires! Thanks Daph for being transparent and sharing with us--your testimony will help many. One person once said, "As christians we often forget how to be transparent once God heals us and transforms us. We act as though we are without sin and have to forget that old life. But God wants us to show people our "scars"--show people that we still make mistakes but he is still molding us and shaping us to what he desires for us to be. Its by showing people are 'scars' our 'realness' that people are drawn to Christ." I BELIEVE THIS! Show people where God has brought you from and where he is STILL taking you!!! PRAISE GOD FOR YOU DAPH! KEEP ON KEEPING ON MRS BOAZ! Keep encouraging your husband and being his support system, before you know it HE WILL BE EVERYTHING GOD WANTS HIM TO BE!! GLORY TO GOD!

(its true if God tells you to get out of an abusive relationship its because He knows hearts and He knows the ones that will never change)
The difference between warning dreams about men and prophetic dreams that they are the right ones, is that God will DISCOURAGE you about one. But ENCOURAGE you about the other.

Re: Part 8: Feeling the Need to Share More about my Husband
Daph,
Remember when I first registered and said I heard the name "Daphne" whispered in my ear as I woke up one morning? Now I think I know why.
I dreamed about my husband years before I met him, but one dream in particular was given to me five days before I actually "met" him. When you marry someone that you believe was God-ordained, there is not necessarily a happily-ever-after. The pastor who performed our wedding ceremony was actually a prophet who confirmed to us that it truly was God, and he also confirmed things that my husband and I discussed that only God could have told him.
One of the things he said to us that was so interesting was that I would take a bullet for my husband. I'm a living witness that I have taken many bullets in the spirit realm. My flesh tells me to divorce him and go on. In my spirit I have not gotten the green light.
Your transparency truly blessed me and encouraged me that what Satan tries to kill you with, God will turn it for His glory. Continue to allow God to use you, and I look forward to sharing/hearing in the future.
Love,
Delaine

Re: Part 8: Feeling the Need to Share More about my Husband
Oh my gosh, booooooo hoooooo! I am like almost in tears here. I just love you for your honesty and transparency. I just know that God has put you both together and what God has put together no one can seperate. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!!!!!!!! NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL PROSPER! Why because you are in the direct will of the Father!
Father, right now in the name of Jesus I claim victory in the life of my dear friend Daph. Lord I thank you for your favor in every area of their life. I thank you that we are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus. Oh my beloved, that you would protect them and guide them through all obstacles.....cover them with your wings and shelter them. I see them in the promised land Lord.....Where you have promised to take them.....there they will have your peace and your love to carry them all the days of their lives and they will be fruitfull.
Lord we love you and honor you and give you all the praise and glory!
In Jesus name we pray,
Your servant,
Connie

Re: Part 8: Feeling the Need to Share More about my Husband
Daph...GIRL!!!!! You were supposed to share this. It was just this past weekend that I had this conversation with the Lord and asked him to do whatever needs to be done in me so that I can love my future husband through anything. I am one of those people who knows exactly who my future husband will be after seeing him in my dreams for the past 12 years...uh huh...TWELVE YEARS!!!!! He's going through some things right now which I know I will have to help him through eventually.
I needed you to share this because I see it as a "wink" from God letting me know that my prayer was heard and that I was right on target with my desire to help him KNOWING that he is NOT coming to me perfect (even though I thought he would show squeeky clean once upon a time).
Continue being obedient because I see myself right up under you learning. I was just thanking the Lord for YOU because you showed up in my life right when I lost hope in these dreams about my husband. Everytime you share, it's exactly what I need to hear and for that I say...THANK YOU!!!

Re: Part 8: Feeling the Need to Share More about my Husband
WOW!
Daph -
Thank you for being transparent! I've been blessed not only by your testimony but also by the other posts in response...Amen to them all!
What this reminds me is (that as you and others have stated) when God puts two people together He will equip them with the grace and mercy (among other things) necessary to support each other. When we look at Biblical couples - Adam and Eve, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Rachel, Hosea and Gomer, etc. while these couples were put together by the Lord, life certainly wasn't a rose garden for them after they married.....
Desiree - I wholehearted agree that marriage is a ministry...and I believe that this is one key reason that so many Christian marriages are failing, because Christians forget that (that is if they were ever taught this principle) and buy into the world's "happily ever after" fairytale. We as individuals have to develop a servant's heart towards our mates. While we're waiting the Lord is refining and equipping us and our future mates to love, support and grow with each other to accomplish that which He has assigned us both as a couple and as individuals.
When a couple is focused 150% on each other's needs (versus focusing on their own needs, trying to make sure they're not "getting the short end of the stick", harboring resentment when they perceive that they are and thus giving the enemy an opening) AND each have a heart for God (they want to please God so they seek God for instruction and/or listens when He speaks), God will get the glory.

LURDYS
you are preaching!!!lol...I've also heard that women's personal gifts are given to them to help in the "ministry"/support their husbands. Your gifts are not for you but for your spouse so you two can grow together to the fullest potential (as you've so eloquently mentioned)! I AM BLESSED BY YOUR WORDS!
