Part 7: How God showed me the man I'm supposed to be with through dreams and visions

I had several symbolic dreams that led me to believe my husband and I were the “perfect pair”. I dreamed one night about a Root Beer and a Cream Soda sitting side by side. I had a lot of joy when I woke up to record the feelings I had associated with the dream. I felt he and I were like Root Beer and Cream Soda. The perfect pair! Several days later he told me his favorite drink was Root Beer. I said “NO WAY!” My favorite soda is Cream Soda!
In another dream, before I’d ever seen the inside of his house, I dreamed about an aquarium. Inside the aquarium were two round circles side by side. One was gold and the other was silver. They were perfect counterparts and I remember thinking that in my dream how he and I were like those circles…the perfect counterparts. Then after the dream he invited me to his house. When I walked into his bedroom he was telling me about something and I saw this aquarium by his futon. Inside it were the silver and gold circles side by side (they were actually thermometers). I was so surprised that I never responded to what he was telling me and he asked me what was wrong!!! I’m sure all the blood had drained from my face! But to me it was another confirmation that he and I were the perfect counterparts. There were other things I’d seen in my dreams that were in his house. That had never happened to me as far as I could remember. I also told my mother before I went to his house, I knew we would be eating off of paper plates because of a dream I’d had. We had steak and potatoes that night…a very fancy and expensive meal he cooked for his parents and I. We ate it off paper plates.

My cousin went through a difficult time in her love life, she had two divorces before she gave her life over to God had he led her to the right man. One night I dreamed she came over to my house and we were both excited about our brand new cell phones that were everything we’d always wanted.( I remember so much joy from that dream as well. In the first cell phone dream I had, the phone represented a man.) When I awoke from the dream I knew it meant that my cousin and I both had gifts from God when it came to our mates. But I was blown away when my cousin came to my house in real life to show me her new cell phone that her husband had bought her. This was the first opportunity I’d had to tell her about my husband(just dating at the time) and show her the new cell phone he had bought me. We had a huge conversation about God bringing the right person into our lives. It was amazing!


My husband told me that he’d had dreams about being with a woman that he was so happy with and it wasn’t his ex wife. There were certain things about this woman he dreamed about that had things in common with me. One night when I asked the Lord for confirmation again, I asked that He would give him a dream and then have him tell me the dream the following day. The next day he called me and told me this dream God had given him. He said that he was exploring pyramids in Egypt. Suddenly I was there with him and he was very happy…then we started exploring them together. It was good enough confirmation for me.

When I told him about the dreams God had given me about him, he was a little weirded out. I don’t advise anyone sharing this stuff with others unless you are prompted by the Holy Spirit. If your mate doesn’t have understanding of dreams and visions, it may be too much for them at first. But it doesn’t mean they won’t ever come along…Remember, God brought the two of you together. I’ve just learned that “easy does it” does the trick. I was worried I would scare him off, but God reminded me that what He brings together let no man separate.

After we were seeing each other for a while, I began to get discouraged because he didn’t know I was the one the way I knew he was. He just didn’t seem to be as sure as I was and he told me that a lot. I asked God to help me or to tell him the way He told me. One night I had this dream that told me that no matter how many times he tested me or our relationship; I was still going to be the one for him. God said he would prove it to him as many times as it took for him to get it. And that’s exactly what happened. No matter how many times my husband questioned if I was the right one, God would show him I was and to stop being silly. the man finally told me one day that God told him while he was at work that he just needed to marry me and that no other woman would make him happier. I was so glad!

He and I got married April 23, 2008. Not many people get to say they knew their spouse was “The One” as soon as they met them. But I give God all the glory when I say I knew he was the right one before I met him. Praise God!

My husband and I pray every night over our family and pray that the Lord guides us into His perfect will. We both share the dreams the Lord gives us each night and prayerfully consider them. I have shared almost all the prophetic dreams God gave me about him from before we met. My husband knows and is beginning to share with others how God speaks through dreams and visions. Thank you Jesus! It is my prayer that my testimony will bless others and bring inspiration to those who are waiting for their future husband or wife. God knows everything and sees it all. Just trust that you have nothing to worry about and that its all in His hands. I wasted a lot of energy worrying about things that God had already taken care of. I also pray this will encourage others not to worry about anything at all…if God said it, it will be done. Thank you Father!

LAURA!!! I have finally made it to the end!!I was so blessed by your testimony and it encourages me even more to keep waiting on God nomatter what (for that perfect match)! ...I like how you said, "God does things that doesn't make sense" (to the logical mind) but in the end he brings total understanding! Jeff was everything you wanted, you both had the same characteristics; he was what you wanted and you were what he wanted!!! This is comforting to know that when God reveals something to you (like who your husband is), he will reveal to your future spouse too that you're the one! (God doesn't do anything half way!!!) What seemed bad at first (ie: the divorce) God turned it around and it worked out for your good (Romans 8:28)!

*Did you know who Jeff looked like before you met him, or the man just had characteristics of what you wanted?
THIS TRULY IS A BEAUTIFUL STORY OF HOW GOD IS FAITHFUL. ITS also funny how both you and Jeff had dreams of other people that were not your spouses but representative of what would be (in the future). I would often have dreams and think: is this right? Is this my flesh because, God wouldn't allow me to dream like this would he? (HE WOULDN'T Contradict his word would he? Then again, it wouldn't be a contradiction if he would tell you right?)...Your testimony has helped me to hold fast until GOD sends me who he has for me. It doesn't matter if others believe or If I don't understand it because it seems strange!! GOD IS SOO GOOD. I don't know, but I was always unsure about me being in a blended family..but who knows? (whatever God wants! someone once said, "you can't choose who you're supposed to marry") THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the infinity for posting this daph! this brings so much clarity!

LOL Thank YOU Desiree! What you said really blessed me. Actually I changed my ex's name to Joe in the post, because your supposed to do that but Jeffs name is really Jeff but everyone already knew that so i left it the same lol. Its funny because, all the things i thought i wouldnt like about Jeff ended up being blessings! God really knows what Hes doing and neither one of us has been happier! God really does give good gifts!! LOL. Thank you for your response. It was worth writing all that just to read what you wrote!

Thanks Daph for your story, it encourages me to never give up and to ask God for my future wife to receive dreams and visions about me for confirmation on her part. God has given me about the same amount of dreams as you and they are pretty specific as well. You have seen most of them but i am in waiting for my future wife to have dreams that blow her mind and she finds happiness because the man of her dreams was literally right in front of her eyes and he was so close that she could not see him for who he was.

You're right! No worries, be happy! I have come this far and i cannot doubt or give up but to trust in the Lord and believe His promises even though your future spouse has no idea who you are. I want to thank him now for everything that He is doing behind the scenes and the preparation of her and i. I just thank you Jesus for her and all the confirmations and all the dreams, that they come true. Thank you Jesus!

Daph, you have already ministered to me about some dreams I've been having about my mate and I have pretty much been confident. You told me to ask the Lord to give me more dreams about my future mate and I froze up because I was afraid I would get all these dreams that weren't real.

After reading all the times you asked the Lord to confirm and he did, gave me hope that he is faithful to do the same for me. I think there is just a hesitency in me because this individual is well known and I'm seeing his life just crumble down to nothing because he married the wrong woman. He looks sad and unhappy so I am definately praying for him. It's only a matter of time before we meet however reading ALL of your dreams have encouraged my heart to hold fast because God is faithful to complete that which he started.

I praise God for your obedience. This kills the lies of the enemy that says, God can't show you who your mate is...To God be ALL THE GLORY :clap:

I am just honored to know you in the way that I have! you have ministered to me in so many ways through interpretations, and I thank you for your patience with me! When I read your posts I thought about a book entitled "when God winks"...it just lets us know in little ways to look at how God speaks to us and gives us his "winks of favor" in our personal situations. For example, lets say a girl is going through a breakup and she asks God, "Lord, should I stay with this guy (lets say Doug) or let him go?" she asks God to show her a sign, and when she turns on her television, she changes it to the show: KING OF QUEENS. The main character Doug, is having problems with his wife and they are discussing a breakup. This gives the girl her answer. God speaks to us in so many ways, we just have to be open.
you are such a blessed woman of God...and so sweet! Keep writing, and I can't wait to have the person that makes me UBER happy and come back to tell you guys!!!lol

Tight, Tight, Tight....i have recently started praying for my husband. I never had the urge to as much as I do now....just the other day i had a strange occurance....I was watching tv, and its like i saw this carmel complexioned (if that is a word) guy....bald headed, and it made me wonder if that is what my hubby would look like....

was it a vision?

i suggest you write it down and start a journal or make a section for dreams/visions like this one
