Part 4: How God showed me the man I'm supposed to be with through dreams and visions

December 16, 2007 “Running a Race”
I dreamed I was running a race and was competing for first place. In the race, there were check points that everyone stopped at to make sure you were healthy enough to keep running. I stopped at the check point and the doctor checked me out. He said I was in 3rd place, which was good, but I could do better. Also, that I couldn’t continue with the race unless I got rid of ringworm that was on my skin. Suddenly a man appeared beside me and told me to cut it off. I knew that he used to be in the military, and I saw an American flag, him jumping out of airplanes, and a drill sergeant yelling at him. I also felt that we had some sort of love connection, but the most important thing was that he was urging me so strongly to cut the ringworm off so I could finish the race with him and gain first place. So I did.
*The race represents the Christian race we all run. At the time I was settling for less than Gods best for me. The man was my husband encouraging me to get rid of what was holding me back so I could win the prize. He was an Airborne Ranger in the army. An Airborne Ranger jumps out of helicopters or small planes.

December 22, 2007 “Red fence and river”
I dreamed twice I was on a boat with my Dad and a man. We were going down this straight and narrow river. To my right there was a red fence and I looked to my left and there was another red fence. I knew those fences were there to keep us from going to the right or to the left. I looked at my Daddy and I was so excited I had so much joy in my heart because neither I nor the man could leave the boat. We were in it together with our Daddy and we were traveling straight together with Him.
*This meant my husband and I were traveling together with God and we were on the straight and narrow way. We would neither travel to the right or to the left.

I started talking to my husband online two days before this dream and around this time the Lord began to reveal the meanings of them through His Holy Spirit. I was getting ready to meet him in person and I continued to ask God for confirmation. I wanted to be sure he was the right one so I prayed fervently about him.

December 22, 2007 “Golden Nugget”
I dreamed my sister gave me a golden nugget. It was totally out of character for her to do that and I was so surprised but very grateful. I told her, “Wow, thank you so much! This must have taken you forever to find!” She said, “No actually I bought it off the internet.” I woke up feeling so surprised she would give me something so valuable.
* My sister volunteered to watch my children so he and I could meet for the first time. My sister is a party girl and I was shocked she would give up her New Years Eve so I could meet a man I met on the internet. She had given me something very valuable indeed!

December 23, 2007 “Song of Songs Dream” This pretty much did it for me and I hadn’t even met the fella yet!
I had the most amazing thing happen to me. As I was reading the bible in Song of Songs, dreams began to flood back to my memory from the night before. I will quote the verse, and then describe the dream pertaining to it.

Song of Songs 1:8 “If you do not know, most beautiful of women, follow the tracks of the sheep and graze your young goats by the tents of the shepherds.”
~I dreamed I was following tracks trying to find my herd. I was a shepherdess and someone was directing me to my flock.

Song of Songs 2:1 “I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys. Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens.”
~I dreamed I was holding a lily that had died and risen again into a beautiful lily. As I looked at it, I spoke to it. I said, “I am so proud of her! I am so, so proud of her!” then planted it firmly on the table three times. Then I noticed the dead ends at the bottom and there was a man standing in a doorway and he handed me a knife and told me to cut off the dead ends.

Song of Songs 4:13-14 “Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates with choice fruits, with henna and nard, nard and saffron, calamus and cinnamon, with every kind of incense tree, with myrrh and aloes and all the finest spices.” 7:12-13 “Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines had budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom- there I will give you my love.”
~ I dreamed I was with Jeff and I told him I wanted to go early and see if the fruit on our tree was ready. When we got there, the bark was made of incense and the tree had all this assortment of wonderful things. I remember seeing aloe-vera on the tree. There were also blossoms on the tree. I remember thinking the tree had everything I could ever want on it. I was so happy to see that tree. I was looking for the fruit and I found some and picked it.

*To tie this all together, my flock was my children and my husband's children combined. The lily of the valley was me. I was so proud of myself for trusting God to bring me through everything I’d been through. I was proud of who I was in Christ. I knew I was firmly planted, the man in the dream was my husband and he was the one that encouraged me to get rid of my dead ends. I had some things to let go involving my recent divorce. I found my husband who was the tree and had everything I’d ever wanted in a man. This series of dreams that night pretty much had me convinced he was the man for me.

I never really understood Song of Solomon that well, but when you wrote out the scripture and explained the dream, it came alive for me. AMAZING!
