Intimacy with God

Lately my husband and I have been so busy! I've been busy with the kids and the things God has me working on and my husband has his job and just started school. We have four kids between the two of us so life gets pretty hectic and we barely have any alone time. I was looking at him today thinking..i sure do love that man and i sure do miss him! MISS HIM!! He was sitting right in front of me and I missed him! It seemed like forever since the last time i was able to have some quality time with him. I missed the intimacy. Then God opened my eyes. When we are so busy, God is still there sitting right in front of us. We can love Him so much and still miss out on intimacy with Him. We NEED intimacy so much! What is a relationship with God without that closeness? Have you ever been through a spiritual desert where you just felt so dry, then had an experience with God that was so quenching and in your mind you go, "WOW I MISSED YOU GOD!" We need Intimacy with our Lord just like our bodies need water. Sometimes when i tell God how much I love him, i sound like im talking to my husband. BUT ITS TRUE STUFF and thats what God wants from us! He wants our Hearts! He wants to be the desire of our hearts! He wants us to yern for Him and pour our love on Him like perfume! Whether you have an earthly husband or not, be intimate with God. He is the ONLY TRUE lover of your soul! There is nothing more quenching than His love and being close and intimate with Him.
Just thought I'd share what God dropped in my heart today.
