Don’t know what this gift is?

I think the best thing for you to do is to continue to seek the Lord. Only HE knows what the gift is and the right timing to reveal it to you. This scripture came to my mind when I was reading your post:

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3

God shows us things in advance and then the Holy Spirit prepares us to receive it. If you haven't received any insight on it yet, it's probably because God is completing the necessary work that needs to be done so you can operate in it.

I too am a (mostly) housewife and mom. This may be only my opinion on the matter, but take it to the Lord in prayer and see what He tells you:

Being a mom and MINISTERING to your family on a daily basis is the IMPORTANT ministry you could ever do.

It takes a lot of time and energy to pour yourself into your family in this way. So there's not a lot of time/energy left over to take over an involved ministry.

But that ministry (mothering) won't last forever. God knows that and may be starting to instill gifts in you now that He will desire to stir up when your "duty" to your family is less time consuming/less energy draining etc. You may be learning lessons or be in the process of being tempered or molded right now, for no obvious reason in the current time frame. But God is banking something in you and He will come to collect on His investment with INTEREST in a few years.
